Looking at the Chiefs remaining games:
The Chiefs have 4 games left that could go either way.
The Cowboys can score but have a D that allows scoring although Quinnen Williams and Logan Wilson have helped quite a bit.
The Texans are raising their bar and have just the kind of defense that gives Mahomes trouble. Can they score enough to win despite the refs and arrowhead stadium?
The Chargers seem to be a little too soft even though they beat the Chiefs in the 1st game of the season.
The Broncos may have nothing to play for in this next to last game of the season and Payton has a history of resting players. Otoh, they may need the win to get the #1 seed and a bye. A win over the Chiefs could also keep the Chiefs out of the playoffs which Payton would love.
