This may be old news/ rumor…
The year Gonzo was drafted Mayo and Eliot had a late pre draft visit with Gonzo in Oregon.
At the time they had Keon White and Gonzo rated as first rounders. BB wanted White in round 1.
Eliot and Mayo had to talk BB into taking Gonzo.
 
The longer they wait, the more it will cost the Patriots. Extend him as soon as it is possible. He and Witherspoon are both up to be extended. I've heard they
could be waiting for the other to sign to set the bar. The Pats have his full 3rd league year, '26, to come to an agreement. Get it started would be my advice.

How much will they need for the 26 draft class?
And what’s considered an ideal amount these days to be able to have flexibility in TC and in season?
The caps gone up so much it’s hard to keep up.

No disrespect to you ,I have a hard time believing BB was going to pass on gonzo for white.
everybody had gonzo as 1st rd, and white was not projected that high.
I suspect this is Eliot trying to make him look better and BB worse. (JMHO)

I hope white comes back fully after the shooting .

Let's not forget that BB didn't want Mac Jones; he was overruled. Wolf's draft the next year might have been the worst draft class in Patriots history - Drake Maye and a massive pile of shit . Only Maye and Wallace made the team last year; Wallace did not get any snaps until the final four games of the season.

I don't think they've picked it up yet. NFL teams have until May 1st to decide on the 5th-Year option salary for players drafted in the 1st Round of of the 2023 draft.
They will pick up his 5th year option by May 1, if necessary.
Smart, imo. It always costs more when you wait.

April fools in general has become more and more predictable.

I woke up today and immediately caught onto the fact everybody and their mother is trying these April fools pranks and it just seems cliche.

The only thing lamer is waiting to April 2nd, and saying, Belated April Fools Day!!!! like everyone had forgotten the day before....

....not that I know anyone who ever did something that dumb, but its reception was not pleasant.
