Why wouldn't we want to keep Boutte? He's not costing that much vs his production and the big plays that he made last year and is capable of making.
If some team wants to give us a top 15 second rounder for him then we should listen. But I don't think that the Patriots should take any less.

My understanding is that trading Boutte is significantly about helping him out, that while he's a great option to have, the chances that he'd be disgruntled this year are very high. Barring injury, his absolute best case scenario is that he's essentially splitting the WR3 role, because at different times you'd want Boutte, but at others you might want Pop or Hollins or Williams. This year is his opportunity to prove that he should get paid, and doing it behind Brown and Doubs would be hard enough if the WR3 role wasn't split 3-4 ways.

It should be about the team. If it's beneficial to the team to trade or keep him, that's what they should do.

Right. In the event that he is marginally better than another of the 7 WR options, how do you weigh the impact of him potentially poisoning the locker room, and/or not being able to keep his head right?

I love Boutte, but I see the argument for trading him.

If that is happening then they should trade or cut him. That usually doesn't happen unless a person has an attitude problem in the first place.

However, I have not heard or read that he has been that type of problem.

I'm not even sure I'd call it an attitude problem. My guess would be that he's going to absolutely bust his ass in training camp, but that his agent has absolutely gone to Wolf and let it be known. In all likelihood, this is his one chance at a big contract. If he ends up someplace like DC and has a real chance at being a WR2 or clear cut WR3, it could be a difference of easily 8 figures over the life of the contract.

That's not exactly childish sulking. I think the point is that they like him, and acknowledge that he's definitely able to contribute to the team, but it's bad for him to be there. So they do the right thing, trade him to a better situation for him that can't really come back to bite them, and get something for him.

The NFL’s daily transaction report shows that the Patriots placed edge rusher Harold Landry and tight end C.J. Dippre on the physically unable to perform list. Running back Terrell Jennings was placed on the non-football injury list.

All three players continue to count against the 90-man roster limit and can be activated at any point during training camp.

Landry dealt with a knee injury last season and did not take part in the team’s practices this spring. Landry had 49 tackles, 8.5 sacks and a forced fumble last season.

Jennings had 23 carries for 73 yards and a touchdown in seven 2025 games. Dippre appeared in two games.

Hopefully that's it but I think we can still add until they practice.
 
Keep Boutte at least until the final roster cutdown at the end of preseason. Chances are always good that at least 1 receiver goes down with injury. Right now you have a 7-man logjam; get rid of Boutte and someone gets put on IR to start the season and suddenly you need another WR. And if you get to cutdown day with 7, and someone ELSE needs a receiver, his trade value will go up.

When has he ever given any indication that he would be that kind of teammate?

He never has given that indication, but I think @Flagg the Wanderer is just trying to point out that it's not an unreasonable scenario to happen when someone is dissatisfied with their role.
 
If Landry is on PUP and Jacas is "redshirted"

Joey Bosa ? Not what he once was ,and Would he sign a contract based on his availibility ?

2025 team: Buffalo Bills | Age entering 2026 season: 31

What he brings: Bosa has played in at least 14 games over the past two seasons after injuries limited him to a total of 13 games from 2022 to 2023. Averaging 36.3 snaps per game for the Bills, he had 5 sacks, 5 forced fumbles and 42 pressures. Bosa should be viewed as a situational rusher who can still win with speed-to-power. His effort level also leads to production late in the play.

I knew he was big into fishing but I didn't know it was Randy Moss who got him into it.
He has been on a few On The Water episodes. He was shown fishing for Striped Bass on the Cape Cod Canal catching a whopper last week with one of his boys.
I went to the canal Tuesday morning with the family. There were 20 others fishing from the Sandwich rock jetty. The only fish caught were mackerals, not even 1 Striper.

But it was fun!
