Mac Jones Is Our QB1

Why I'm high on Mac Jones.
Joe Burrow and Mac Jones rookie seasons were remarkably alike from a statistical perspective, with Jones actually edging out Burrow, who suffered a season-ending ACL tear in November, in nearly every metric, standard and advanced:

Mac needs a college WR teammate next year... :coffee:

Hurley makes the comparisons and Mac comes out pretty damn well

This article is completely ridiculous. Hurley actually put this in print: "Jones' rookie season was better than all of them - including Tom Brady and Aaron Rodgers."

Of course he's comparing Jones to seasons that Brady and Rodgers DIDN'T PLAY. Hurley goes through his futile exercise and ends with this:

"So the point of all of this isn't to say "Mac did better, Mac will be better." It's just to remind the world and the region that there's no need to explicitly put a cap on what the Patriots' quarterback will be capable of during his career. We really don't know yet, and it's OK to say that."

So his main point is "we don't know" what Jones will become. Well, obviously. Why then the stupid comparisons to all-time great quarterbacks?

People are speculating on Jones' potential. Just like with any rookie in the league. That's what people do when they have a limited sample size, they speculate.
