Mac Jones Is Our QB1

Mac Jones. To almost quote the 1976 song by the Orleans, He's still the QB1.

STILL THE QB1

We've been together since Twenty-Twenty-One
Sometimes I think that you were one and done
But I want you to know, after this ugly year
You're still the one I want wearing Patriots gear

You're still the one I want the needle to thread
Still the one that turns my head
We're still having fun and you're still the one

I thought I loved how you played every day
But I never saw it 'til you went away
When Zappe came, I just wanted to go (wanted to go)
On the Zappe Train, now I'm sayin' NO NO NO-OH

You're still the one that makes me cheer
Still the one who's cadence I want to hear
We're still having fun and you're still the one

You're still the one that makes the Pats strong
Still the one who can move this team along
We're still having fun and you're still the one (yes, you are)

Ooh
Ooh

Changing, your game is going gold
Even though it grows old, it grows new

You're still the one that I love to root for
Still the one I make the Foxboro commute for
We're still having fun and you're still the one

You're still the one who can scratch my itch
You're still the one that I wouldn't switch
We're still having fun and you're still the one

You are still the one that makes me shout
Still the one that I brag about
We're still having fun and you're still the one

You are still the one
You're still the one

We're still having fun and you're still the one

ha ha, not only was it fun to write those x-rated lyrics, re-writing song lyrics for my then girlfriend was what resulted in her becoming my now wife. I think it was a re-written version of Gordon Lightfoot's If You Could Read My Mind that finally broke her. (Looking back, It was lucky I used that song and not Shocking Blues' Venus or I'd still be single)

Until Mac sucks with an O-Line, OC, and a WR1, he’s not the main issue, imo.
Mac Jones is QB1
I've got him on a shorter leash than you do, but I saw enough improvement the last two weeks to let him have one more run at it. He's got a lot to work on himself.

I'd love to read the lyrics. For real.

And, I'd bet you still remember it, or some of it, without looking it up, because that was, no doubt, a big deal to you.

Did you sing it to her? Hold a boom-box over your head and lip synch? I have to know.

You can't just drop a general outline and not provide some detail for the townsfolk. I'm sincerely interested and promise not
to be judgey.

FWIW, I was once part of the crew on a sailing trip to an island off Penobscot Bay that went really bad due to getting caught in a nasty storm and we damn near didn't make it. Picture your
life flashing before your eyes for 6 straight hours. I set a parody of that event to another Lightfoot classic "Edmund Fitzgerald" and played guitar and sang it for
a bunch of my friends, once some time had passed, on a midnight sail in Boston Harbor and it went over pretty well.

I can only remember certain lines from it now, but I wasn't trying to win the heart of a fair maiden or do anything useful other than trying to make people laugh about
what was a really scary experience.

Now I'm wondering what could you rhyme with "Venus"?.......

Lazar was pushing a narrative that they have already told you what they think of Mac. Mac has been controlled by the play calling. And in this most recent game they loosened up on the reins and got 3 interceptions. Plus throughout the year they haven't supported Mac like a #1 QB. Add that Mac had to listen to Zappe chants.

Quotes please.

Interesting. I don't have 2 hours for that. So Lazar must have done a 180 on his opinion of Jones from what he publishes in writing all over the web?

Whatever decision is made regarding Mac, it might be best to wait until a real OC is in place and see what Mac does then. Trevor Lawrence under Urban Meyer looked like utter trash and now actually looks like he's well on his way to living up to the hype coming out of college now that Pederson is there, Daniel Jones was a borderline laughing stock until Daboll, now is in a position to where he may actually get a new contract to be the Giants QB for the future.

Listen to yesterday's Patriots Unfiltered podcast.

Start at 13:20 and you will hear Lazar's comments on what he thinks BB thinks about Mac Jones. His evaluation of Mac goes til the 27 min mark.
In the end Lazar thinks the play calling and lack of PA was a huge part of Mac's regression but a coach (BB) might see Mac's panic in the pocket and lack of arm strength as actual deal breakers. Lazar hasn't done a 180 but he expresses how BB might evaluate Mac as someone not capable of winning it all before it's time for BB to retire.

The conversation from 29 to 42 is especially illuminating on several topics.

I think what is puzzling about that segment is the "physical limitations" BB is allegedly questioning should have and could have been determined in the pre-draft workouts. If he thinks that now, he should have thought that before drafting him...
