I'm not a big college basketball fan. I might watch some games over the season.
But both my wife and I love us some March Madness. I guess it's because of the one and done format. And there are aways has a few upsets.
There 4 play-in games but the field of 64 starts on Thursday. By Sunday night the field will be down to 16.
I always root for the lower seed unless I happen to dislike the school.

From 64 to 16 is nuts but I do like it. The underdog I tend to lean toward, have a few schools I stick to overall each year. Great time now that football is over and basketball is starting to wind down.

LWs were watching the smart tv and they had on some mode where they were watching 4 games at the same time. One of them made some smart-ass comment about not having that "back when you were a kid," and I said that we had it every year on CBS during March madness, on the first week. That was always the best - the games in the four corners of the screen, and they'd bounce you to games that were close or getting ready to close out.

Then when you work at a big company, the people gathering near TVs as their alma maters are playing or something potentially devastating for their brackets. It's a weird holiday feeling, great for morale and often terrible for productivity. Amazing tradition/shared cultural experience. There aren't that many shared cultural experiences left.

I don't follow college basketball most of the time, but I love March Madness. All the LWs have attached to different teams for different reasons - all the Iowa teams, ND, Villanova, anything local or in Florida, Gonzaga for some reason...they just look for any reason to support one team instead of another.

We're in the UConn camp - Mrs. TR is from Connecticut and her mom was a big fan of the women's team. And the men's team is the most successful men's college BB program in the 21st century.

I always have UConn in my listing. Bias since I am from NE.

My daughter went to Mount Holyoke which is just a couple miles from Amherst. That was when UMass and UConn were rivals with coach Calhoun at UConn and coach Cal at UMass. They really didn't like each other.

During college, that first Saturday of March Madness was bar hopping drinking day.

The day I got married Danny Ainge was riding high in the tournament .

The big question. Can Nebraska get their first ever NCAA Tournament victory? 🤞

Merrimack College (North Andover, MA) was the #1 seed in the Metro Atlantic conference tourney and was upset by 3rd-seeded Siena, who earned a berth in the tourney.

Siena was a 16-seed and just went to the mt with Duke, the overall top seed in the tourney, giving them quite a 1st round scare.

I was rooting for Merrimack to get a berth but I don't know that they could have given Duke the same run for their money as Siena just did.

I don't think anyone outside of NC has heard of them.
After today, more people in Wisconsin will know who they are.
Not far from Duke is HP but didnt know they were in MM. That win took hubby's bracket down. He is one of many. We pass by HP often.

#12 seed High Point beats #5 seed Wisconsin.
#16 Siena ahead of #1 Duke by 11 at half.

12 vs. 5 games are traditionally among the better tournament games. I love them so much.

Never heard of High Point.
Sounds like a nice neighborhood.

I never want to see a B1G team lose (well, almost never) but this is a great win for HP and goose bumps call by the High Point STUDENT broadcast team. This kid just got himself an interview or three...

Likewise TIP- I follow the women's team very, very, closely. They play tomorrow at 3 on ABC
