Name the best 70's movie

Great topic. So many amazing films.

Apocalypse Now is one of my favorite movies ever.

Francis Ford Coppola went to film school the Dionysus to my Apollo, Jim Morrison. My 2 twins of Gemini.

From the opening scene to the last are absolutely brilliant and what incredible acting performances and cinematography.

"This is the end, my only friend, the end" then napalm hits the treeline to open the movie.

Chills.

Happy Birthday Jim.

Absolutely. :):4321:

# 1 Jaws - I had just received my dive certification when this movie was released and I couldn't wait to see it. Went to the theatre to see it and it was packed and you could feel the excitement prior to the movie starting and it did not disappoint. A week later I went on a dive off the coast of Maine, I was a little scared at first but eventually I got over it. This is my all time favorite movie.

#2 Alien - I had watched so many monster movies by this point and the ones involving space always seemed more intense to me. This was one of the more "keep you on the edge of your seat" type movies I had ever seen and I still enjoy watching it to this day.

#3 Apocalypse Now - Vietnam era war films are my favorite only for the fact that there is so much that is not known about this war and this one was a bit more in depth on how things were done during that timeframe and it was also the birth of our Special Forces.

Most of the very best have already been mentioned but...I may have missed these

Taxi Driver
Close Encounters of the Third Kind
The Exorcist
Enter The Dragon
Don't Look Now (A movie filled with manic-depressant moments) Grossly underrated movie.
Halloween and Texas Chainsaw Massacre

While the movie technically came out in 82 it was born from 1979s album The Wall.

This movie I've seen far many more times than any other film so I think it deserves a mention.

Great movie wrong decade. I used to watch this on Christmas day while finally sleeping in after 5 weeks of Christmas package delivering. That being said you have been voted off the island.

I did include that disclaimer at the beginning of the post.

I demand a recount of the vote. 😂

The scariest movie for me at that time, when I was a kid, and it wasn't even that gory....was Omen II.....It was what it was portraying that scared the crap out of me. And the music...

Halloween and Friday the 13th scared the shit out me, Jaws was the only movie that I hid my head under the blanket when I ever the music started playing fast. I was only 8 years of age though…
