How much better could the Pats have been all those years with a teensy bit more emphasis and value put on WR?
I'd also add that Bill saw the recent success of teams with good WRs and began to value WR more the last 4-5 years himself. The evidence is in his drafting of Harry and Thornton much
higher in the draft than his draft history would indicate. He also tried to sign some high profile WRs the last few years, Hopkins and OBJ to name 2.
Iow, he was coming around, slowly for sure, but coming around nonetheless.
It's conceivable that there is more than one formula that leads to success in the NFL.
