Delgado wants too much. Last I heard the Mets offered him crazy money. Besides, I don't see much value or space on the Sox roster for Delgado, with Manny on board. Manny is truly a better bat too. Delgado is pretty streaky, where Manny will have his streaks, but is considerably more consistent.

Am I missing something? Is this the current Red Sox rotation? If it stays healthy it will be SICK. Then again if it is SICK you guys are in trouble -- at least it isn't as old as the Yanks rotation.

Schilling (dominant)
Wells (fearless and can be dominant)
Miller (WILL rejuvinate his career)
Clement (with your run support look out)
Arroyo (proved his balls in the playoffs)

Am I missing someone?

What about Wakefield? By the way...I really have not been paying much attention except for the signings...But does anyone know how Schill's ankle is doing?

Not very good, I've heard. He's expected to miss a good chunk of the first part of the season and may be ready to pitch in May. First thoughts were that he'd be ready for the season opener, but that doesn't seem to be the case now.

See. Here's Carlos Delgado telling Sox management to "smell my fingers".

Question for you guys....

Which pitcher does Mirabelli catch for? Or does he not catch for a specific pitcher? Do they just use him when they give Varitek a day off?

'Belli is Wakefield's catcher. He's much more adept at catching the knuckler. He can handle all other pitchers, but the knuckler is not Varitek's friend at all.

**EDIT** You beat me to it PA.

Here's a really good piece on the 1999 All Star Game at Fenway Park.

Lots of Red Sox talk here. Game threads too.
