NFL current records vs winning teams

From si power rankings:
While the combined records of New England’s opponents are starting to cause people to doubt the legitimacy of this run, consider this: the Patriots have the No. 1 defensive strength of schedule in the NFL to date. This is not SMU coasting en route to the college playoffs

Here's the updated standings. The picture shifts as teams become winners or drop from that list, for example the Panthers are now a winning team and thus the Pats gained 1 in their record vs winners from them getting over .500. Patriots have the best record vs winners of any team in the AFC, and 2nd best record vs winners of any team in the NFL.

Really interesting to see the Bears record. Also the Chiefs.

Thanks for posting that.

Yeah the Chiefs are inexplicably favored in a matchup against what is to me a clearly superior team yet again. But that was true last week, and I expected them to lose, and they did, and the week before, and I expected them to lose, and they did. I'm expecting them to lose again this week, at which point almost all models which have them hitting the playoffs rely on them winning out. Yet they still have among the best odds of any team in the NFL of winning the super bowl as well. Vegas and commentators and fans love them. The product on the field is wildly misaligned with the way they're talked about and seen though. Bears are about to start facing teams with winning records, either they'll "unexpectedly collapse" or prove they're for real, but when the 'who have they beat' arguments get bandied about, they're the actual ones for whom it's applicable, rather than the Patriots.

Now factor in the way the officials treat the ChRefs the push comes to shove. A better that doesn't take into account the OBVIOUS favoritism the ChRefs benefit from is a losing better based on the last 8 or so years.

Updated, missing the Giants/Patriots of course, but it doesn't affect the Patriots and as to the Giants... does anyone care?

With tough games defined as games vs opponents with a winning record. The Patriots slid up to perfect because the Steelers dropped to .500. I've been considering refining this to track "at or above .500" rather than above .500, it wouldn't affect much (Ravens, Chiefs and Steelers are the only three at .500 currently, though obviously other teams have flirted with it or are close), but it might make it a bit more "fair" and slightly less volatile.

Either way, the takeaways are this - Rams and Eagles are legit. Tons of wins vs winners, great percentage relatively speaking. Even or better record vs winning teams: Patriots, Bills, Colts, Jaguars, Broncos, Eagles, Bears, Packers, Rams. Also, Chiefs are not winning out from here.
