NFL to play in Australia.

Melbourne is the heart of Aussie Rules. It was born there, and that's all they're interested in in that city and the state of Victoria and also in Adelaide in the state of South Australia.

We have a similar pennant hanging in one of our bedrooms. We've been to see a Port Adelaide Power game at the Adelaide Oval - an Aussie couple we are friends with are Port Adelaide Power fans. What I noticed at the game is that many of the players are normally sized, like NFL corner backs and running backs. But some are much larger - 6' 6" and even taller men are out there, but they're all built like tight ends. There aren't any players built like guards or defensive tackles; everyone has to be able to run, and run, and run.

Hope the Patriots never get tagged for this one. It’s ridiculous and throws a huge wrench into game preparation etc.

I agree with Mark Cuban here. Between the international games, the streaming messes, and the midweek games - not to mention the rule changes and the weekly highly questionable calls, the NFL went from ruling the USA to a very bad path in maybe a decade.
Cuban is an idiot who is rich and the media sucks up to him.
What sport is going to take over? The NBA? MLS? MLB? NHL? None of those sports can compete with football on any level.
Yes, the NFL is flirting with over exposure and will probably lose part of their fanbase. But it will take a generation for them to go down far enough to be threatened by another sport in popularity.

The only parts of their fanbase that has lost interest are people like us Gen. X's and older. The NFL gives absolutely 0 fucks about us because we're gonna die within the next 20 or so years. the millennials and forward like all this fantasy football bullshit and gambling and didn't know the sport before all these stupid rules.

Well that's cheered me right up! Thanks! Death is just around the corner.

Ah well, easy come, easy go.
