Nostalgic Music Thread

Not the typical "nostalgic" music I don't suppose but the song is 30 years old. Every so often I get on my son's Spotify playlist just to hear what he was listening to. To my utter shock, this song came on. No doubt at some point he and I were having a conversation and I must have brought up the Melvins and talked about how I listened to them back in my high school days. Somehow they made an impression on him and made the cut.

It took us a long time to get around to this classic.

It makes me wonder how many other gems are out there waiting to be re-discovered by our massive data mining intellects.

So very true...! I used to hear it a lot on FM back in the 70's. Great tune.

I saw a poll a number of years ago on Neil Young's songs. This song, Powderfinger, was voted his best ever, and I have to agree, gotta be my top fav too - and I like so much of his work.

This version, from the 1979 Rust Never Sleeps tour, IMO is just superb. It's been on YT before, but always gets taken down, but maybe this one will last a bit longer:

In the late 60's and early 70's, some stations promoted themselves as "Underground FM", playing some extended deep album cuts. That approach introduced me to some great music.

Boulder, Colo. based Zephyr was one of those groups, featuring Candy Givens on vocals and Tommy Bolin on guitar.

"Winter Always Finds Me" was one of those tunes I fondly remember:
