I like this cover better than Traffic's version of the original.

Al Kooper: musician, song writer, producer, professor. What a career this man has had.

Wonderful Ian Tyson song. Ian and Sylvia's iteration is also fantastic. Loved the very early Ian and Sylvia (Tyson and Fricker)

Song: Light My Fire
Artist: Jose Feliciano

This cover got a lot of airplay back in the 1960s, maybe as much as the original Doors version.

Jim was my hero growing up. Read "No one Here Gets Out Alive" at least a dozen times as a teen and then read all the poetry, medieval demonology, and philosophy that were mention that he read in that book. Huge impact, man. But like my dad said his philosophy killed him."The road of excess leads to the palace of wisdom".

However, this my least favorite of their songs, and it's interesting that it was Robby Krieger's attempt at emulating Jim.

Song: Guantanamera

A lot of people have covered this song - this version is stellar, IMO.
