Nostalgic Music Thread

Instant love when I first heard it (70 ish?). Still have it on vinyl on CSNY's 4 way street. Just need to get some vinyl equipment. Going through those boxes in the loft would be some serious nostalgia. Many renderings out there of this gorgeous song, but this, your version here is the best, period. I think David's greatest writing and as you suggest his voice Nash's guitar are amazing. Why haven't I even thought of this in forever? So thanks.

Hey BT, yea it was probably the 4-Way Street album, mid 70's sometime, when I first heard "The Lee Shore" too. I never forgot it and went back every now and then over the years to re-listen to it.

It was probably 8-10 years ago when I discovered this absolute gem of a Crosby-Nash version on YT. It was much tighter than the 4 way street version - they just knocked it out of the park! Just an uber beautiful rendition. Glad you enjoyed it. :)

I love it when the "elders" post in this thread. Thank you for exposing this slightly youger person to these tunes.

Glad to help things out for you Old T. There's a lot of great music out there that gets overlooked or simply forgotten about.

Here's one from a group by the name of Aztec Two Step. They got started in Boston in the early 70's, developed a cult following in the northeast which still may be going strong, I'm not sure. The song is the very beautiful and evocative "Highway Song":

A friend recently gave me a little quiz on song lyrics. Some of the questions were really easy, such as:

Who was told not to change her number?
and
What did Mrs. Brown have?

Others had me scratching my head a bit, such as:

Who wrote the words of a sermon that no one will hear?
and
Where was the young man told it was fun to stay?

I needed some hints to get the answers to some, such as:

Who was traveling and living off the land?
and
In what city would you be safe and warm on a winter's day?

The one that completely stumped me was:

Where did Betty met the Leader of the Pack?

It's really nice to see those Robin Trower posts, but remember:
