BY,
I was about to add a few of my favorites and stumbled across this letter posted on the internet from Gary Larson and his lawyer written to another website that had posted his cartoons. Not sure if it applies to this website:

:::sniff sniff::: I smell bullshit.

Hey, Larson, how about an honest letter?

"Dear Sir: I am a money-grubbing whore like everyone else, and don't make quite enough millions off all the T-shirts and desk calendars. So don't use my stuff, or I'll sue your minimum-wage-making ass."

:4321: to the Larsons and Disneys of the world.

I was in college when Larson quit doing The Far Side. I was in charge of the graphics for our college newspaper, and as such, the comics page.

Like many popular comic strips that go into retirement, papers will continue to run old comics as a sort of "Classic Peanuts" or whatever. Not the Far Side.

We got a cease and desist letter immediately after Larson's retirement letter. No newspapers are allowed to run old Far Sides that they'd already paid for.

The above letter sounds like good ol' classic Gary.
