Pat McAfee Is Pretty Good...

(He speaks about the Pats current QB dilemma starting at 27:35. His answer might surprise you.)
I'm not surprised he didn't answer the real question. Pat asked his philosophy on starting or sitting rookie QBs, and BB's answer was it's hard to evaluate players.

I think his answer was more like~ "every player and situation (quality, experience, and specific strengths/weaknesses of coaches, surrounding players, specific strengths and weaknesses of a team, etc) is different, so you need to evaluate each situation differently."

I mean the same rookie QB with an average-ish offense with a heady, veteran center, a marked weakness at pass blocking RT, and standouts at receiving TE (Kelce) and outlet RB (Eckler) is very different than if he had an average-ish offense with a rookie 1st round center, a weakness at LT, and standouts at deep threat X and a power RB (Henry). That's before you consider the specific profile of the QB, the offense you're running, the experience of the OC and QB coach, how much the defence can keep him in decent situations, and even whether he's the successor to Tom Brady or a horrific history of QB play like the NYJs have had. Is it the Seattle media, or Boston/NY?

I would think all of this would matter, and not just a bit on the margins.

From what I've seen of Belichick, his philosophy on almost everything boils down to "do what makes sense in that situation."

Nick Sirianni has a rep of anger management issues. He's not well liked. If the Eagles don't do well this year, he's likely gone.
