Maybe. What I've noticed is that sometimes, people reach their peak at an early age and never improve.Leatherwood was the Outland Award recipient for best lineman in college. Protected Mac’s blind side and also paved huge openings for Najee in Alabama. As an elite LEFT TACKlE, not right tackle. Good LT insurance if Trent goes down.

Some peak in high school, or even earlier. Some peak in college - they look really good competing against others in the 18-22 age bracket.
But after that, the pond gets really big, and all of a sudden there's a bunch of people with talent & experience & desire waiting to eat your lunch. Some people thrive on that, and others are daunted.
I don't know if Leatherwood is one those of those who peaked early, or if just hasn't had the right coaching or been put in the right environment where he can thrive. Given his size and pedigree, he'll probably get another chance.
Oh, absolutely, and it's the kind of signing we've seen BB make throughout his career.True. But I’m gonna say it’s worth a cheap flyer since he was immediately asked to switch positions. the kid is a stretch zone left tackle, not a right guard or a right tackle.

Pats are in discussions with Leatherwood, the sloth. OG is my guess
Even though the Pats have a lot of new young players they still have the 2nd oldest team in the league.
But remember, Hoyer, Slater and Folk are 36, 35, and 37 years old which skews our average age. In reality, our team got younger as far as players go.
Herron has actually looked pretty good when he's played LT. He looks so awkward, uncomfortable, and overmatched on the right side. At LT he wasn't a world-beater, but he actually looked comfortable and more confident, and his performance was...fine. At a level I'm comfortable with from a developing backup.Don’t know if Hines can step in this year at RG, but I have more faith in Hines at RG, than Herron or any other backup trying to play RT (should slide Onwenu to RT)

...but it's been awhile since I've seen him on the left at this point, I think.
I guess Bill loves his cheap peaks, but apparently still has standards.Leatherwood.
2nd in sacks given up last year with 8
3rd in penalties with 14
80th ranked G last year. Just awful.

At right guard absolutely. It was not smart to take a left tackle and force fit him on the right side just because he’s big.
