Patriots vs Chargers 8:15 PM Sunday 1/11/26 NBC

speaking of charger chants, it would be awesome if our old friend BoltsOwnu showed up this week.

Some of you young uns missed a lot of that fun back in the day.

Edit: my god I've been hanging around here for 22 freaking years????
Why do I recall him posting about health issues years ago? Might be wrong, but that’s what comes I mind .

I could not be happier with this draw. Hopefully we come out blazing with our run game and pound them.

I don't remember anything about him having health issues
but I'm sure he was sick of living in California because he
now lives in Las Vegas

additional info available on request and mutually agreed fee transfer executed :coffee:

LA has the one of the worst o lines in football and the Pats are once again going to be healthy headed into the playoffs.
Pats are 4th in scoring whereas the Chargers are 20th, they are also 2nd in giving up sacks.

But their D is better than the Pats:
5th ranked overall D vs Pats 8th
84 passes defensed vs Pats 67
53 hurries vs Pats 34
19 ints vs Pats 10
45 sacks vs Pats 35
4th in RZ D vs Pats 30th
5th in 3rd down D vs Pats 12th

Scoring D, Pats 18.8 (4th) vs Chargers 20.0 (9th)
Pats have better offensive production:
Pats 3rd in scoring with 28.8 pts/game vs Chargers 12th with 21.6

Pats are favored by 3.5 pts which is a half point higher than the usual 3 pt home field advantage.
Plenty tight to say 'any given Sunday', turnovers, refs and luck could be the difference.

I think if our defense gets a bump with the addition of the injured starters and our offense continues to hum with some 'special' plays added for the Chargers by Josh, we should win by more than 3.5 pts. I'd like to see schemed blitzes to put extra pressure on Herbert.

34 to 24 Patriots

Was Phillip playing on a torn ACL that game?

I ever cared for those charger teams. This years chargers team does concern me. In some ways more than the broncos or bills.

The Football Gods did not look kindly on this display. They smote the 2006 Patriots the very next week, and in horrific fashion.

That '06 team was well on the path to transitioning from the absolute nails that was the 2004 team to the talented-but-soft teams we saw from 2006-2013. Those years weren't that fun to watch, because it was much less about joy in winning than it was dread of losing and being exposed. It was like cheering on your own imposter syndrome, instead of the quiet confidence of a navy seal in a group of frat boys.

I believe he had the torn ACL for the '07 AFCCG in Foxboro.
