Patriots vs Packers, Week 9 2018

This defense seems to have Rodger's number tonight. I'm loving it.

I re-wound and checked ... on that too many men penalty, the Pats actually only had 10 guys on the field when the ball was snapped.

What an awesome team win.

Offense looks horrible in the middle of the game, things were looking bad. Meanwhile the defense did their job and held on tight while they figured it back out. Then offense exploded and that's all she wrote.

I love games like this

That was a great team win!! If McDaniels calls a better 3rd the Pats win going away. I thought the defense played their best game in a looong time. All 3 levels made plays.

You know what's so cool?
The team I root for is the most penalized team in the NFL. Yours is the least.
And mine has the most difficult schedule ( next to the clowns but that's becuase of us)
Yet we are just a half game behind ya.

And we may have another pretty decent RB added the roster shortly. Not that I give a shit.

Nice win.

Yoiks... Gordon confirmed that he dislocated his finger a couple times and they had to pop it back in.

Solid win. We need to keep pace with KC and Pitt.

Yeah but you have Mike Tomlin & we have Bill Belichick; you have Fichtner and we have Josh McDaniels; you have Ben and we have Tom.
3 distinct advantages for us.

Pats' life without Gronk, regular season.

Mike Reiss‏Verified account @MikeReiss<small class="time"> </small>
From <s>@</s>ESPNStatsInfo: In the 2 games without Rob Gronkowski this season, the Patriots won both and scored a total of 69 points.

It's in the playoffs, and particularly in the SB, where he can be the difference.

Interestingly our big 3 on offense (Gronk Jules Tom) are all kind of having down years (statistically and eyeball test) but this team is still 7-2. Got some new blood stepping up right now.

What stood out to me:

The overall D allowing 17 points to the Packers.
Gilmore holding DAdams to 40 yds in single coverage. Adams had been averaging over 130 yds/game his last 3 games. That's incredibly good people.

The Pats' pass rush hounded Rodgers relentlessly and he was visibly frustrated. His final numbers? 24-43 for 259 yards with 2 TDs with an 89.2 passer rating. Not bad - not great either. But Rodgers 4th quarter numbers? 2-7 for 15 yards. That's great against any QB. Trey Flowers really turned it up in critical situations. He may convince BB to pay him after all. LGuy caused the fumble that turned the game in a big way.

The offensive imagination to keep the Packers' D off balance. The flea-flicker and the throwback being front and center. Brady finished 22-35 for 294 yards with 1 TD with a passer rating of 99.0. The OL did its job.

Josh Gordon has been a great late signing. He's big, tough, focuses on the ball and he can out fight any CB to make the contested catch. Unreal that he played through 2 dislocations of a finger.

Patterson is quickly proving to be much more than the one-trick pony kick returner that was his rep. His ball security is amazing. Just wait til Josh uses him as a receiving back. It's coming.

Are you referencing penalties to illustrate a substantial coaching disparity between the teams? If so, I agree.

As for the schedule, where do you get the idea that Pitt's has been particularly tough? KC is outstanding, but what else are you looking at?
Cleveland and Baltimore twice? Atlanta when they were in a rut?

Pitt has some tough games looming, but I don't see how that has anything to do with schedules to date. If anything, NE having the tougher schedule to date and the easier one moving forward seems to point in the opposite direction, but what do I know?

Gilmore is becoming a true shut down corner right before our eyes. Dude is a baller.

Jmac isn't too bad, either.

I can't wait for Marty Bennett's assessment of last night's game. :coffee:
