In Mills' defense, he's really a S who is having to play CB out of necessity.

Yeah, this team would look very different with Gilmore at CB1, JCJ at CB2, Jones in the slot, with Mills as a cover S available as a resource with a different skillset than Phillips and Dugger. They'd have some pretty awesome flexibility even within the big nickel personnel:
"Cover" with Phillips, Mills (now Mills/Bryant), and McCourty at S.
Cover Dime with those three at S and Jones as the slot corner would be a nightmare to throw against, with Judon, Barmore, KVN headlining the pass rush.
Counter sets with 2 or 3 passing/move TEs with Dugger, Phillips, McCourty, Collins, KVN. Plus Williams would be a huge asset if he ever starts to come around...but I'm not hugely optimistic.
