Random Football News 2022

I want the best team possible each year, but not sure which one player was going to put them on top of a very loaded AFC
not punting on the season, but get mac another year with last years shopping spree (and shake out what are keepers), draft pics that didn't play last year, new pics this year, and see what you have.
I suspect BB knows they are not likely getting to SB this year (never give up, but be practical too) and is building things up.
just my 2 cents

If BB reckoned that the Pats were close to contending, he'd have made moves to make them contenders, but with all these other AFC teams going all-in to win a Lombardi, BB has perhaps decided that it might be best to step back and see how things go this year knowing that he's got a load of cap space to work with next year and he's spent a year getting a better feel for which AFC teams are actually contenders and who are the pretenders.

The same phony jackassess here and elsewhere who are screaming like spoiled little babies whose rattles have been taken away about the Pats not spending this year are the same dopes who were screaming last year about them overspending. I'd have absolute respect for them if they'd just be honest about their phoniness. But, they won't...

Kraft said the goal for this year is to win a playoff game. Based on what you wrote it would appear that you believe Bill is afraid because the AFC has loaded up. That’s not Bill or at least not who Bill used to be. You also still did not answer why he can’t spend some of that $110 million this year to improve the team? There is no reason to sit on that money or at least there wasn’t back in March whether it was signing our own guys or dipping into the market. He is basically taking another flyer on a season like he did in 2020 which makes little sense.

i will ask again, who should he have signed that was worth big money to help this current team?

Already answered above by SG14 and myself. Getting Mac a legit receiver should have been priority number one. Either FA or do a trade like McD for Adams. Get Miller instead of him going to Bills. Don't trade Mason for a bag of footballs and low ball Karras. Sign Jackson. We don't have any top CB.

Give up #1 picks and $30 mil per year for 1 receiver? No thx......also Miller is trash and was way over paid. as far as Jackson goes I'm confident we can replace him rather quickly. why don't you let the Draft happen and the rebuild finish. its ok for things to change

Would love to see him in a Pats uni but he's gonna want too much moola...

If you remember the last time a day passed without any big-name drama in the NFL, let us know. A day after the 49ers' Jimmy Garoppolo became one of several starting quarterbacks to skip the start of offseason activities, one of Garoppolo's top weapons of recent years -- wide receiver Deebo Samuel -- is trying to force his own way out of town. Entering the final year of his rookie contract, the All-Pro pass catcher isn't just holding out of voluntary workouts; he's now actively seeking a trade, according to ESPN, requesting a move out of town after breaking off negotiations with 49ers brass.
"(Samuel) did not want to discuss specific reasons behind his request," Jeff Darlington reported Wednesday, "but he has indeed let the 49ers know his desire to leave the organization." NFL Media adds that Samuel's official request reached the 49ers front office more than a week ago, hence the two sides' halted contract talks.
"San Francisco wants to pay Deebo Samuel, but Deebo Samuel was the one who scrubbed the 49ers logos off his social media page," ESPN's Adam Schefter previously reported Tuesday. "Deebo Samuel was the one that essentially, basically made it known he wanted to move on. San Francisco would pay Deebo Samuel today, tomorrow, the next day. It's not hard to figure out what the contract would look like. ... This ... is Deebo Samuel not wanting to get a deal done."
News of the receiver's trade request comes after Samuel's brother, Tyquan, stoked the flames of speculation in Facebook and Instagram comments, where he suggested Samuel would soon be requesting a trade and no longer intends to play for the 49ers. Tyquan has since walked back some of his comments, dismissing them as jokes, but Deebo himself had already hinted at discontent with San Francisco. He recently took to social media to downplay threats he's received from fans over his perceived contract situation, and was seen liking an Instagram post that referred to playing for no less than $25 million per year.

Both positions can hold water.

not really news but was surprised to see the bills are 0-3 in road playoff games qbed by allen.
To be completely fair, the only QB I can remember with a really good road playoff record is Joe Flacco. 🤷
