Saw this coming like an elephant from 2 feet away.

With that team, the 49ers have the best chance so far to duplicate a part of the earlier Patriots dynasty.

Never thought I’d even utter that previous sentence. But for crying out loud, they have a chance.
Eh, this is the back end of that window. McCafferey's not going to be healthy forever, contracts will be coming up, etc etc. Had they beaten the Chiefs when they should have, then yeah, possibly so.

They have to actually win one Super Bowl first.

It is only his rookie season. Brady didn't win his first till his second season.
Oh. I didn't realize the discussion was Purdy. Still, he has to win his first one. The same discussion was going on last year with Burrow.

I wonder will SF be involved in some monster trade with a team involving Lance? Sean Payton is talking to Denver and the Panthers. Could a massive trade happen with Payton teaming up with lance in either Denver or Carolina? Can anything be done with Russell Wilson? Are Denver stuck with him with nothing that can be done?

Or, does Josh McD make a play for Lance?

I get the feeling some kind of earth-shattering trade will happen this off-season.

Time will tell. Keep in mind that the Patriots retooled at the running back position and several other positions during the early dynasty. Defense was the key.

I don't see much happening on the Lance front. He was tremendously overdrafted, and in my book will be an abject failure.

Well, I guess this is the best thread for this:

Buffalo lost today to the Bengals 27-10.

Watched most of the game from a golf training center in our town while playing Pebble Beach on top tracer with my son, Ethan.

The Bengals beat the Bills much worse than I beat Ethan. But I was still 2-0 on the afternoon. Lol.

Lance? Why would Payton have any interest in Trey Lance? Am I missing something?

Payton could help Wilson a bit I think but Wilson's best days are still 4 years behind him.

Why would Josh McD want to work with Lance? I don't see it. No doubt he has someone in mind at QB but Lance has done nothing to earn his interest.

I would assume Lance's greatest value is still with the 49ers. It's not like a Zach Wilson scenario where he's poison to the locker room.

Lance is 22 years old and has only played in 8 games. If Purdy turns into a pumpkin, they've got him in waiting. No need to trade him.
