The Pats broke him and Atlanta.
(No one likes the run on sentence more than Seth Wickersham.)

Given Wickersham is a journalist - and yes, I apply that term rather loosely here - you'd have thought that he would have a decent grasp of how to write in the English language.

Notable:
Jets ranked #1
Patriots ranked #5
Bills 6, Dolphins 7.
10 games against teams in the top 9, which is even worse because it's actually the top 8 possible opponents after you remove the Patriots.

Mostly meaningless ranking at this time of the season.

The Raiders signed recently released Kristian Wilkerson yesterday.
He makes the 5th former Pats WR signed by the Raiders and he's the 20th former Pats player to be signed by them.
The Raiders have officially become Patriots West.

Lol good luck signing rejects from the last 6 years of patriots players.
Although we all have a soft spot for Meyers.

all kickoff fair catches now coming out to the 25. continuing to remove skilled kickers from the mix. flexing for tnf. ugh.

I hate the piecemeal approach they're taking with kickoffs. Just eliminate the play with a functional replacement:

You score, you get the ball back on your own 30(?), but it's 4th and 25. So you punt. Unless you're onside-kick desperate, of course, in which case going for it on 4th and 25 from the 30 is about the same risk/reward and range of possible outcomes as an onside kick.

It's also safer, and punts are more interesting than kickoffs. Punter and punt return become more valuable, and special teams generally are slightly less fractured, presumably raising the overall level of play.

The joke writes itself.

They use player safety to implement that crappy fair catch rule.

Almost in the next sentence they mention flexing TNF games, which players collectively agree that they're a terrible idea for their recovery.

But hey, be thankful you can fair catch the ball.

Flexing for TNF? Hate to be a fan planning things out these days. Sheesh! 🧐
the nfl/owners don't g.a.f. about fans who go to games. the old school fans like us are disposable. they are interested in people who want to bet on the games be it fantasy football or betting on outcomes.
