Random Football News - 2024

Pats are busy sure, but a missed opportunity.

Diontae Johnson is back with the Ravens. Sort of.

The Ravens claimed Johnson today after he was placed on waivers by the Texans yesterday. But under NFL rules, Johnson is ineligible to play for the rest of the postseason and doesn’t officially go on the Ravens’ roster until after the Super Bowl. And Johnson becomes a free agent in March, so he’s really not going to be part of the Ravens in any meaningful sense.

I have no issue 'missing' on this basket case.

So what you're saying is that he should be a Pittsburgh steeler wide receiver

When a WR is such a PIA that Steelers give up on him, you know you're dealing with galactically epic levels of instability.

Proof of the above is the fact that he's been on three different teams in the single season since the Steelers let him walk.

They’re the standard for picking the “last call bitches”… ☕

The Steelers haven't won a playoff game in a decade, and in that time they've had quite a few DIVA wide receivers.

The good news is that they still haven't figured out the connection between playoff futility and WR selfishness, and will keep on this path, because "The standard is the standard."

In the case of the Steelers, the standard is letting WRs destroy team chemistry and subsequently falling flat on their faces in December and January.

Doing it for a potential comp pick?

On top of that, their coach is Mayo with a decade on him as their tripping leader..,☕

The issue hasn’t been receivers. It’s been that they haven’t had a decent quarterback since Ben and he was decrepit the last few years on top.

QB is a convenient excuse, but other coaches have won in the playoffs with QBs of the same stature that Tomlin has trotted out since Big Ben's retirement.

Russell Wilson is at least as accomplished, even in 2024, as Trent Dilfer was the year the Ravens won their first Super Bowl. As a reminder, Dilfer was released after that Super Bowl victory.

The Ravens took advantage of NFL rules and will likely get a compensatory pick now for Johnson.

He has had trash at the QB spot - Rudolph, Pickett, a washed Wilson. Remember John Harbaugh was about to be fired in Baltimore after having sub-par season when Flacco was declining and then Lamar showed up and everything was fine again. Funny how that works.

Wilson's passer rating this year (95.6) is higher than that of Patrict Mahomes (93.5).

His performance would have been more than acceptable if he were leading a team of self-sacrifing well-coached NFL athletes, but instead he was put in front of an amalgamation of self-aggrandizing solo artists that comprises the bulk of the Steelers roster.

Passer rating, seriously?

Steelers' Russell Wilson, Arthur Smith Reportedly Had Rocky Relationship Throughout 2024

I was reading a mock and it said that DeShaun Watson RETORE his Achillies tendon while rehabbing??? Is that true?? How did I miss that???

Last week's news. He'll likely miss the entire 2025 season.
Good news. Brown's have injury insurance that will pay his salary if he misses the whole year
Bad news. He still counts full against their cap.

No you don't understand! a coach is nothing and a quarterback is everything! Football is not a team sport of strategy, coaching, effort, and talent on the parts of coaches and players. it is a Kingdom where the quarterback is the King and everybody just serves in his court like little jesters. It's a harem where the quarterback is to be served at all times by only the choicest and most select. All failures are theirs and never his if he is the chosen one.

I'm not quite sure I am following you... would you please repeat this 71,000 times over the next 2 years? Perhaps it will sync by then.
