True but Dickerson did it in 16 games
thank you so much! 16 game season is the modern records line...period. not a huge marino person but as far as i'm concerned,HE has the real yardage record because he didn't play in the peypey rules league.

I was brought up on the South Shore in the 1960s and 1970s, but even down there we knew about Dick Jauron when he was at Yale.

RIP

Boy is that sad.young to die and a tough disease. he was definitely a class act and I really respected him. may he rest in peace in football heaven.

Also, Allen over Lamar Jackson and Saquon Barkley for MVP is an absolute fucking joke.

Barkley was the MVP, if you're committed to giving it to a QB, Jackson had better numbers across the board.
It definitely seems strange for it to have been a foregone conclusion that Allen was the MVP for the last month of the season while Jackson was putting up arguably better #'s.

In the QB debate, I get the whole "take one off of their team and who has the better record" argument. If you took Allen off of the Bills, that team would be dogshit. But that debate doesn't stack up when you add Barkley into the discussion. No player has had a greater impact to their overall team's elevated success than that guy. To rush for 2K yards and know you're going to be 3rd in the MVP voting seems a little off.

With Aaron Rodgers hitting the free agent market, along with a number of other notable QBs, it's going to be a bit of a guessing game figuring out who is going to be the starting QB for a number of NFL franchises.

Here's a list of teams that aren't settled at starting QB for the 2025 season:
  • Tennessee Titans: They'll be moving on from Levis, possibly with a free agent if they don't see a QB worthy of the #1 overall pick
  • Cleveland Browns: Even if Deshaun Watson is ready on opening day, his play when healthy was not worthy of him keeping his job
  • New York Giants: No more Daniel Jones so they definitely need a replacement, who almost certainly will be an upgrade if he has functioning arms and legs
  • Las Vegas Raiders: Desmond Ritter and Spencer Rattler are probably not Tom Brady's idea of QBs that can take a team deep into the playoffs
  • New York Jets: The poster child for dysfunction at the QB position
  • New Orleans Saints: Kellen Moore hasn't committed to keeping Derek Carr as his QB1
  • Indianapolis Colts: Anthony Richardson's 2024 season wasn't good - 8 TD passes vs 12 Ints is not going to cut it in the NFL
  • Seattle Seahawks: Geno Smith is a free agent and Seattle didn't make the playoffs last year
  • Minnesota Vikings: Sam Darnold might walk and they'd be left with JJ McCarthy, who got injured as a rookie during training camp and has never played in an NFL regular season game
  • Pittsburgh Steelers: I've read that that the Steelers aren't thrilled with Russell Wilson
  • LA Rams: I saw an article that speculated they might be looking for a trade partner for Matthew Stafford

Over a third of the teams are likely to have new faces at QB next year. Of that list, I'd say only the Steelers and Rams could be possibly be starting their 2024 starter. But Wilson and Stafford are both nearer to 40 than 30, and are not long term solutions. At some point those two franchises are going to have to move on from those guys.
