On one hand you retire whenever you want. On the other hand, kind of a dick move to do this after FA and the draft.

I don't believe there is any cause to say it was a dick move. The man discovered that he had sustained a labral tear and also had significant degenerative changes to his rotator cuff only after he started throwing a football at significant volume. The team was more than aware. They also knew what his options could be. Retirement was seen as the best choice for him and the team. The Saints took Louisville QB. Tyler Shough with the 40th pick in this years draft.

I think the Saints knew this was in the wind. If Shough turns out to flash Jayden Daniels potential then they may not take a QB in 2026, but my guess is that Shough will struggle and they'll be hard-pressed to not draft Arch Manning if he has a decent year at Texas and declares for the draft.

Arch Manning is more hype than substance. He really has not done much against any quality teams. Watch this season maybe he will develop but I don't see it.

We'll find out pretty quick. His first game is at Ohio St. & I suspect it will be a night game. I don't know about quality teams because he hasn't played against any. He looked good against Oklahoma & Mississippi St. but I wouldn't exactly call those teams quality. I do think that Steve Sarkisian made a mistake going back to Quinn Ewers after he sat out with an injury. We'll see how he does playing a full SEC season.
