So much for McLaurin joining the Patriots. Got a new deal today.
McLaurin is my favorite non-Patriot in the NFL right now. Wish the Pats could have acquired him but knew there was no chance. I am glad it's at least over now so I can stop praying that the fraction of a fraction of a fraction of a chance that it could ever happen might come to fruition.

Old Friend Jakobi wants out of vegas (In truth just wants more $)
He's a bargain for vegas

Wide receiver Jakobi Meyers is currently set to open the season with the Raiders, but he’d reportedly prefer to be elsewhere.

NFL Media reports that Meyers recently requested a trade. Per the report, he two sides had been trying to negotiate a new contract and the trade request came when they were unable to agree to terms.

Meyers has a base salary of $10.5 million this season and it is the final year of the three-year pact he signed with the Raiders in 2023. He had 87 catches for 1,027 yards and four touchdowns for the Raiders last season.

That production made Meyers the top wide receiver for Vegas in 2024 and the Raiders reportedly have no plans to move Meyers because of his value to the team’s offense.

Am I the only one who places the on-field talent of the backup QB for the 2025 NE Patriots among the least important areas of focus? The best teams in the league have mediocre backup QB's. And if your starter and backup have similar abilities, you may be a crappy team. If Dobbs plays for any length of time, the season is probably going to be in the toilet anyway so I'd rather see them get the best possible draft pick they can in exchange for having to endure the unfortunate circumstance of Maye going down. I don't want to bring in any guy who might equate to even one more win than Dobbs could lead them to as a starter.
