Random football stuff 2025

I didn't see this discussion live but I'd like to see the full clip. I have to assume they are speaking about when all of these players were college QB's. If so, Brady and Brees were not generational talents. From Clark's own perspective, I don't know how he can say Andrew Luck was a generational talent but Peyton Manning wasn't. That does not make any sense to me at all.

That's a good point on the context of the clip. I think this should be the full discussion (which I have not listened to).

Brees was close to it in college. He led some dogshit Purdue teams to big winning seasons.

Whatever ... Brady is the only that put up the trophies AND the stats to cement himself as the GOAT. I think these guys have to define generational talent correctly. The term itself indicates it can only be ONE guy per generation.

If we are talking today's QBs. Lamar is the generational talent IMO. Of course it is really early, still a decade to go ...

So a guy who has never won anything of import with his team is your idea of a generational talent? Especially because part of it is that he performs poorly in big moments a lot of times.

Maybe there needs to be a differentiation between generational talent and generational....performer or something like that? Someone can rise above the level of their talent.

No. We are just talking about talent not results. Brady was the best QB of his generation results wise - but he was not a generational talent. IMO, John Elway was the most impressive generational talent - the guy had everything.
