The reason is an excuse in this case. It's a black and white issue. He was caught over the limit while driving a car. There is no excuse for that these days. Every driver knows it's illegal. Bringing up that you were a football player who's been dealing with injuries and fell into painkiller dependence and alcohol dependence is no excuse; giving a reason like that is an attempt at an excuse. The law doesn't care why you were drinking, and then were driving. Romo is a multimillionaire. It's not just that he can afford an Uber; he could afford a full-time driver for evenings out. He'd be far better off just owning this without an attempt to reason why it happened. "Yes I was over the limit. I drank before driving, and I should not have done it. I will accept whatever the penalty is and will never do this again."

I think the fact that people are losing their voting rights by shrinking down the overall size of the selection committee will.

And with the fallout from last year, for the foreseeable future, I'd be absolutely shocked if the committee doesn't vote for the best of the best and keep their noses clean. The Hall had its integrity questioned and it can ill-afford for that to perpetuate. They will fall in line because they have to.

I am not saying Rodney's getting in, but part of the Hall's problem is that they have largely ignore Patriots, despite the fact they dominated throughout the league for two consecutive decades. You can't pretend two decades of greatness didn't occur. For it's own self-interest, the Hall would be smart to start acknowledging more Patriots than they have because they need to stop looking like a small group of biased elitists.

Even staunch Patriot haters were blasting the Hall for that gaffe last year. And let's be honest, with the bottleneck at the WR position alone, adjustments needed to be made.

Kraft negotiated a new compensation plan for Goodell that has 95% of his compensation based on how much money he makes for the owners.
(But still no deal yet for Gonzo.)

Never could figure Kraft still being chummy with the guy who screwed Tom Brady and his organization over. Guess the rich stick together. 🤔
