Random Thoughts

A rare bottle of whiskey—the oldest known to exist, according to Skinner Auctioneers—will be offered in the range of between US$20,000 and US$40,000 this June.

The bottle, known as the Old Ingledew Whiskey, was originally estimated to be from 1850. Joseph Hyman, a fine spirits specialist at Skinner, in partnership with scientists at the University of Georgia and the University of Glasgow, tested the whiskey and determined that it was most likely bottled between 1763-1803, making it the oldest whiskey bottle known.

So I think this is what 1.5 years of "sequestering" does to a decent soul, my opinion. One that was idle already and enjoying it. Hard to imagine what it is like to live in some parts of this world. Hats off to them. I am gonna go get help. Just thinking too much about too much.

There is a very interesting discussion to be had on psycho-epistemology and how music hits us almost directly and Willy is alluding to it here.

Not all music will fall on the sensibilities of many. For example, Asian music tends to fall on deaf ears in the West. This because folks in the West mostly having a classical Western ear based on the fact they know we think rationally. The Far East, not so much.

A cultures Asthetics is the final printout of the cultures philosophical thought.

The only people that complain about others having nice stuff as useless typically haven't ventured forth to attain those values.

It's an envy thing and it's ugly.

"Life is precious because you can’t watch it again. I mean, you can believe in an afterlife if that makes you feel better. Doesn’t mean it’s true. But once you realize you’re not gonna be around forever, I think that’s what makes life so magical.

One day you’ll eat your last meal, smell your last flower, hug your friend for the very last time. You might not know it’s the last time, so that’s why you should do everything you love with passion, you know? Treasure the few years you’ve got because that’s all there is."

Ricky Gervais - After Life.

I had this with my love, such an incredible woman. Unfortunately, the time wasn't right to keep her.

Truth!

I am blessed by a woman that when we started dating took a huge leap of faith. I was still trying to find my way and she was already established in her career. Without her providing most of the income for the first few years I would not have been able to cut my teeth and establish myself in a small company. She has never shared, but I know her friends thought she was nuts back then.

She made an investment in me.

Good day today. Borrowed an uncles 2009 challenger, washed it, cleaned it up some. My mom came over and watched both girls while Sarah and went out. Sarah wanted to go to kohl’s, so she went there. Then we went to a cruise in for about 30 minutes. Then went to a steak house for dinner.
