Anyone hear the rumor, " Pats wanted Devin Lloyd at 29 after trading down from 21"?
Think it was Ryan Leaf that said he had solid Intel on the subject.
I listened to a podcast with Greg Cosell the other day and he mentioned that, according to his film study, he felt Lloyd was a free-lancer
who didn't show a lot of discipline at Utah and suggested that to be a possible reason why the Pats might not have wanted to take
a guy like Lloyd with a high pick. Which is more plausible than Ryan Leaf knowing anything about our draft plans.
Of course we'll never know for sure, but, if true, it wouldn't have been the first time Bill skipped over a guy who was a star in college because he
made splash plays at the expense of his team's overall D.
