Lisa already mentioned this in the "Trades" thread, but if true, will need its own thread.

The Patriots have had some success with trades in the last couple of years and coach Bill Belichick said on Monday that the team is open to making a deal before the 4 p.m. ET trade deadline passes on Tuesday.

Ian Rapoport of NFL Media reports that one player on their radar is Titans cornerback Jason McCourty. The interest makes sense given the way the Patriots have shuffled the decks at cornerback this season and Belichick’s past acquisitions of players who went to Rutgers, although there’s an even better reason for the Patriots to make the deal.

That reason would be the presence of safety Devin McCourty in their secondary, of course. The McCourtys are twin brothers, which would give Belichick a whole new way to stress the minds of opposing coaches who might find themselves wondering which McCourty is wearing which uniform come Sunday.

Unfortunately, Rapoport adds that a deal appears unlikely at the moment. Jason McCourty missed the first three games of the season with a groin injury, but has returned for the last four games to help the Titans be one of the league’s more effective teams against the pass. That’s been worth little to their record or Ken Whisenhunt’s job security, but it may be enough for the Titans to resist the chance to reunite the McCourty brothers.

He's only interested in doing this to cover up the Patriots' secret cloning project.... :coffee:

Reading a 4th and a 6th for Jason McC. I've seen a few reports that it's already done and awaiting for the Pats to fit him in under the cap although Rapaport is saying it may not get done before the deadline.

McCourty is in the fourth year of his six-year, $44.26 million contract that included $17 million guaranteed. He’ll make base salaries of $6.8 million (2015), $7 million (2016-2017) over the remainder of the agreement.
This season, McCourty has been limited to appearing in four games and recorded 15 tackles and a pass defense for the Titans.

That would allow Ryan to go back to the slot. Imagine a Mccoutry double team on the outside . Since bb trust bulter to cover one on one.

You mean you don't think that Jason McCourty is already a BB secretly generated clone? Don't you think it's MIGHTY CONVENIENT that the McCourtys' father is "dead"?
BB HAS been coaching since 1975 after all. :D

WEEI's executive producer, Jimmy Stewart, got his info of a done deal from a fake twitter account. :spank:

Interest is real though

Would they be the first set of twins to play on the same team.
