Tough one.

I found this: https://www.amazon.com/Possibilities-Collection-Stories-Stephen-Editors/dp/B000AN347I

Possibilities a Collection of Short Stories Paperback – 1973
by Stephen, Henry B. Maloney And Lahna Diskin; Editors. Dunning
Paperback: 256 pages
Publisher: Scholastic Book Services (1973)
Language: English
ASIN: B000AN347I

No cover though. I also googled the crap out of it and there is not much info to find. However, it was released in 1973 from Scholastic and includes "Possibilities" in the title. I got the impression this was a book you read in school so I thought this might be a possibility :coffee:

Short stories mentioned in that Amazon review are: Includes the classic stories "button, button", "the public hating", "harrison bergeron", and "the chase".

One of the problems is that book covers change so much.

Correction, You hit a homerun, a touchdown, a Yahtzee, a goal.. All of the above, that was it.. Thanks so much!

Excellent. Glad that it worked out, though I am very surprised I did not see the page you linked to.

Here is the cover he was talking about for everyone else:

There's an online wealth of these re-titled paperbacks, an artform in and of itself, and a cultural treasure

Here's a little bit of Roger Dean. Obviously a favorite of mine, since his work is shown in my avatar. Others like him too, such as postal officials...

and several rock&roll artists...

and possibly James Cameron, director of the film Avatar (although Dean lost the lawsuit for alleged copyright infringement).

Some more book covers that I recall:

Songs From The Stars, by Norman Spinrad, wasn't very good. But his two main characters, Clear Blue Lou and Sunshine Sue, were a lot of fun.

And Retief's War put Jaime Retief into a full-length novel, which isn't Laumer's strong suit. The Retief short-stories, on the other hand, are one of the treasures of SF.

Scifi art is cool...I didn't try to cover over your artist appreciation thread.

Peace...
I wasn't trying to derail your thread - just trying to expand it.

I will delete that post, if you think it will help your thread gain more traction.
