I have mentioned this in other threads, but thought it should have its own in case people didn't know.
Patriotsplanet.com is hosted by the good folks at Chiefsplanet. Austin (the owner) runs them on servers that are owned I believe. During the draft, it became apparent that the server hardware desperately needed to be upgraded. He has raised the money and bought the new hardware, and has started the laborious process of copying everything to the new servers.
Once that is complete, the plan is to upgrade the software that both boards run on (vbulletin). That will probably mean some big changes in functionality of the board, but will also introduce a slew of new features. I will do my best to get it configured to conserve the look and feel as much as we can. I will count on plenty of feedback from everyone to get that done. Many of the mods we use now (rep system, moods, a bunch of little things) will go away after the upgrade, but we can see what's available and fun and I will add them.
The upgrade should also take care of all of the technical issues we are having now (the error messages, double posting, Forum Runner).
There was some sluggishness today, update from Austin is:
So if you see some lag, this is probably what is going on.
We also still have some outgoing email issues, but I have done all I can there for awhile. Some people get emails, others will not (like AOL users).
