Source: Chad Jackson released

Hint: Replace Chad Jackson with Troy Brown in your analysis above.

I'm sorry wandering....I'm still confused about this

Dwight Evans was one of my favorite players. I mean, one of my very favorite players. And Kevin Romine....I was at a game at Fenway in 1989 or 1990, and the great Nolan Ryan pitched 8 strong innings for the Rangers. In the bottom of the 9t (2-2 score), Kevin Romine led off against a new pitcher, and blasted one into the screen for the win!

Sorry I don't get your analogy. Did you accidently write Dwight Evans, but mean to write Tim Dwight? No, that wouldn't make any sense.

Let's see: "Troy Brown ain't no Tim Dwight". That's true...I would go with Troy Brown anyday!

Back on topic, it's funny that locally on tv yesterday, they were showing Chad Jackson talking to a reporter, about preseason, and having a chance to be on the Patriots, in general...and today, Released from the team.

I admit it. This surprises the hell out of me. I thought they'd give Chad one more chance.

In a surprising move, the Patriots informed wide receiver Chad Jackson this morning that they are cutting him from the roster, according to a league source.

thanks for Mike Vrable fwiw... he is panning out quite nice so far.

Exactly my point. Nothing would please me more than signing Chad Jackson and watching him blossom to all the great potential the Pats thought he had when they drafted him, in Black and Gold.
Then you can all curse his name and the fact that he was a waste of space on your roster, while we reap all the benefits.

"CHAD JACKSON VISITING RAIDERS ON TUESDAY
Posted by Mike Florio on September 1, 2008, 7:15 p.m.
Though many teams might not be interested in receiver Chad Jackson, a second-round pick in the 2006 draft cut Sunday by the Patriots, one team is bringing him in for a look-see.

That team is the Raiders, according to Adam Caplan of Scout.com.

The Raiders signed receiver Ashley Lelie on Monday. Adam Schefter of NFL Network reports that starting wideout Javon Walker is questionable for Week One with a hamstring injury.

Caplan also reports that the Raiders seriously considered making a waivers claim for Jackson."

Black & gold, or black & silver?! ROFL:LOL:

.

Why can't they assign him to the practice squad? I'd still like to see them get some use out of him...

He needs to clear waivers first, then agree to go onto the practice squad. If he clears waivers, any team in the league can offer him a spot on their practice squad. He'd essentially be a free agent.

I'm not positive that he qualifies for the practice squad. The part of the rule that would apply to him, since he's going into his third year is that he cannot have more than one accrued season and, during any accrued time, cannot have been active for more than nine games. I believe that IR does not count towards accrued time. But wasn't he on the 53 man roster for all of his rookie season?

Probably, he's actually been right about him from day 1. Props to SOKB at this time.

Here's a few old threads, started by him:

A year late with this one below, but it is what it is.

Again, props dude. You were right the entire time. I put down my Kool-Aide and salute you. I was wrong, you was right.

I'm man enough to admit when I'm wrong. I though he would/could have worked out, and OBVIOUSLY, that clearly wasn't the case. What a waste of not only a 2nd round draft pick, but 2 others that were given up to obtain him. This really sucks, and now you all know WHY I CAN'T FVCKING STAND DRAFTING WRs and HAVE ALMOST ZERO RESPECT FOR THAT POSITION.
