Tampering before you are allowed to tamper.

There's way too much at stake to expect teams to not be back channeling and setting the table for negotiations. Contracts have a lot of classes and options, how do you think deals were getting from zero to done within hours of the "tampering window" opening up? This article could have been written for pretty much any player signed within the first 3-4 hours at least.

So, were the Patriots tampering before they should have been tampering?
Or, did they wait until it was OK to tampering before they made their offer?
Good to see that they made the offer, even if it wasn't taken.
Goodell will come down hard on the Chiefs. He may suspend a cheerleader for a game.
Such a harsh judgement, how will the Chiefs survive?

It wouldn't shock me if the Patriots* did this intentionally to show us all that they actually offered someone big money, in anticipation of only being able to land a couple of stiffs.

Then, whoops! They actually signed a few studs. :ROFLMAO:

I tend to think this is just doing business as business is done and every team does it. This is why the deals come so quickly as soon as the 'legal' tampering period starts.

You mean to tell me that even though the NFL lets teams tamper legally they still do illegal tampering? You don't say.
