Covered three high school basketball games for work yesterday. Two were girls postseason and a boy’s regular season. The first girls game was meh. A team was down by 12 when I got there in the third, only lost by 3. The second game at that sectional I only got the first three scores by the local team. I had to get to the boys game.
After getting gas because the news car had little gas to start with, I got to the boys game with under a minute in regulation. Luckily for me, that ended in a tie. Not many points were scored in the first overtime and ended up a tie. Second overtime wasn’t a lot of scoring. Under a minute to go, a team was only down by two points, they made two free throws tied again. The other team went quickly down the court, put up a shot but it didn’t make it in, the player was fouled. He missed the first free throw, then the second. Four seconds to go, rebound and passed back to the guy who was shooting free throws. Puts up a shot for two, it bounces, buzzer goes off, bounces again and drops through the net. Students stormed the court.
I don’t know I didn’t get into basketball in high school but that was fun to watch.
