Teh official Taltos "circle rep thread" #2

Marcia and I loved that place. She insisted on dining in the Pink Room after cocktails in the bar listening to the violinist carry us away. We'd go once a month during the '80s. Those were great times.
I loved the stroganoff. She'd get the Paprikash most of the time. For dessert we'd always get the Gundel Pancake. I can taste it now. We loved that restaurant.
Ah the Stroganoff. And memories. Life in a diffent time and different place. We loved it too.

Cheers.

In the 80s and 90a when I was buying bordeaux I saw the carmenere in the blend just a couple of times. It's one of the six (and very much the rarest) varietal permitted in the Bordeaux blend. It has, it seems, become popular and quite common in the warmth of Chile which permits it to age longer and more fully, producing a richer fruitier wine. I need to explore this more. A wine friend brought a bottle of Casillero Del Diablo (had to look it up) which we had with grilled lambchops. Lovely. Will see if I can hunt down your purple angel.

Cheers

This 2000 yr old sapphire and gold ring belonging to Caligula has his 4th wife's portrait engraved on the crown.
It sold for $750K at auction recently. Beautiful despite the Caligula ties.
