Title: Serenade For Strings In C Major
Composer: Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky
Conductor: Seiji Ozawa

I was a big Billy Joel fan as a kid, but one of his songs, This Night, always seemed a touch too ethereal, kind of out of time. The refrain just soared, and moved me at a level the grade-school Wanderer didn't understand.

Turns out he ripped it whole cloth (credited on the album notes) from the second movement of Beethoven's Sonata Pathetique. As an adult I was floored when I got deeper into classical and stumbled across it. Still, gorgeous, and a nice modernized interpretation of an amazing piece of music.
