The Epic Rants thread

As a fairly salty person I appreciate a good rant from another salty person and I figured it would be kind of cool to have a thread for random rants that amuse and entertain. The Post that made me start this thread is this one.

The QR code to see a restaurant menu is a huge pet peeve for me. I always ask for the regular menu and when they tell me it’s the QR on the table I tell them I don’t have a phone. Then they bring me a real menu. Here’s the best part as soon as I get the menu I whip out my phone and put it next to me. The look on their faces are priceless.🙂

Mr. Sterling is basically just saying that he really misses 1989, isn't he? Everything I bought just worked, and for awhile. And you could always, ALWAYS, press zero to talk to a human.

I'm far from a luddite. I really like technology and it has a lot of really great applications that have made things better and easier .but I don't think we should be forced into using it in order to participate in the economy. And those places are not appliances and in many cases not automobiles.
I had the same washer and dryer for like 25 yeand now I've gone through 3 washing machines because they have these stupid freaking circuit board goes you're screwed it's like hundreds of dollars and it's like oh well I'm like 3/4 of the way to a new washing machine, I'll just get a new one .I'm sure that's the goal .the next one I buy is gonna be a plain old dial washing machine with no circuit boards in it and an agitator. If you can even get such a thing anymore.

When I make a phone call to a business I don't want to press 1 for English or 2 for Spanish. This is America God darn it. If you are coming to our country learn to read and write English first.

And the codicil to that is once you do press whatever it is for english and you're connected to somebody, you want the somebody on the other end to speak english. you don't want somebody who you would have to study their own native language to figure out what they're saying in english. then they tell you their name is Jim. oh yeah your name is Jim. sure, and I'm the king of siberia. Your name is actually ca'afukazyzybqqq...but yeah, jim for short.🙄🤣

English is a language brought to the shores of North America by immigrants.

We should all learn and speak Navajo; if it was good enough for the World War 2 windtalkers, it's good enough for everyone.

in studying the history of languages,I have learned that most of the time, the language of the conqueror takes precedence over the language of the conquered. That is how we get so many interesting pieces of language that don't necessarily dove tail with the original language. So of course there are a lot of native names of places that we still use and probably pieces of their language. that's their legacy Iinguistically speaking.😁

What really bothers me is seeing someone tearing through a parking lot at full speed with little regard for pedestrians, then seeing that person get of their car, bury their nose in their phone, and having that person stroll through the lot ignoring all the moving cars around them. :mad1:

Is that enough of a rant, or should this post be in the pet peeves thread?

I think that's a rant. Some of the stuff could cross over with the pet peeves thread but but as the thread starter i'll allow it.

Lately I have had to honk behind people at red lights who have their heads down looking at their phone when the light turns green.

Half of his rant just sounds like generic boomer shit. But the 'I shouldn't need to give my email to my coffee maker' is spot fucking on. (Old school Mr. Coffee with only the on-off switch for me).

Also, disable One Drive, unless you really have no storage of your own.

At a pawn shop maybe…🤔

Paywalls…
Stores that don’t accept cash…
Places that you need a reservation beforehand…
Oh my, so many to think of.
