So yesterday as I was about to tee off on the 4th hole, a full grown doe comes out of the woods and stopped 20 yards directly in front of me.
Over the years, I had encounted plenty of deer on the golf course. Usually they will run across the fairway or keep their distance.
This doe just stood there as calm as can be. The guy with me has never seen a deer just stop calmly that close to people. She was beautiful and healty animal.
I stood at the tee box and whistled. The deer wagged her tail like a dog. I waited a few second and I whistled again and she wagged her tail again.
Finally she casually walked to an area of high grass that area and bedded herself down.
I had never seen a deer wag their tails so I looked it up when I got home.
A deer will do that if they are content and sense no danger. If the tail is up, so you see the white, that signals that they sense danger.

Looks like 21 year old Jackson Koivun is going to be the winner even with Scottie breathing down his neck. The kid has ice water in his veins today.
Are we looking at a blind squirrel situation or an emerging competitor?

Prior to winning today, Jackson has made $93,000 on the PGA tour.
He just made $1,584,000.

In addition, he is now #70 in FedEx cup standing, which puts him in the last playoff slot.. He will need a good showing this week to keep that and get into the playoffs.
He also has a 2 year PGA tour exemption.

It is however an important tournament because of the game within the game.
Certainly all players are there to win. But their chances to qualify for the FedEx cup playoffs is running out. Example: Jackson, last week's winner, started this week at #70, which is the last qualifying spot. When he finished yesterday he was #71 which would put him out of the playoffs.
Over the next 2 days the ranking could and will change.

Rocket Classic is no more! I have attended it a couple of times. I have played both courses at Detroit Golf Club, though not the PGA setup - they create 18 holes from the 36 on both courses. It has been a few years, but it looked great on TV this year. Rocket (used to be Quicken Loans) was a client of mine for a couple of decades. Good company.

My boy Jackson tried very hard to take himself out yesterday but finished in the final #70 spot.
Sadly, Keegan Bradley did not qualify.
