The Golf thread

couple of USA playahs going "hat-less" today in support of Cantlay in winning holes
doing mock "cap tipping" and/or "cap doffing" to fahk w/ the Euro crowd

way too little, too late I think :lecture:

Thanks Scottie for choking on the 18th. Glad you weren't at Bastone
We should have let Eutope fall to the Soviets. They would have shot those idiots singing that lame Ole song over and over again.

Why are the Irish signing a Brazilian soccer song? Makes no friggin’ sense.
Why do the South African rugby fans sing it? It's a catchy tune that fans around the world love. And it's not Brazilian...it started in Belgium as Allez Allez and then was changed into Spanish for the 1986 Mexican World Cup.

One more reason that I thank God that I'm an American.
Why the hell was Keegan Bradely not chosen for this team. Can't be any worse than Sam Burns. Zach Johnson has a lot of of explaining to do.
Jordan Spieth just hit a drive into a tree.

Congratulations to the European team on their win. Professional bridesmaid Tommy Fleetwood now has an idea on what it's like to be a bride.
Most of the Euro players went to school in America and live in America, so it's like America lost to America.

Try and lose with at least some dignity mate!

Took this thread back off ignore after I watched the end of the Ryder Cup an hour ago. Glad to see the Americans showed a little pride, and at least caused the Europeans to play hard on the last day. Otherwise the result was humiliating for the team in my opinion. I don't even know what to say about Patrick Cantley right now. Well, I know what I want to say, but I don't want the people with extra buttons to ban me from this thread.

Just read that Kyle Berkshire hit a drive 579 yards with a ball speed of 233mph. He did this on a Wyoming golf course. Berkshire is the 2X World's Longest Drive Champion.
Posting on this thread at the request of Big Sky.

Oh, I lost with dignity in the sense that I'm American, but I expected "we" would lose before the first shot was struck. Anyhow, I've been pulling for
the Euros in this event for the last 5 or 6, so I don't see it as a loss.

I can't really explain why. I guess at some point I just realized that we have a lot of douchebags on the PGA tour and the Euros seemed to
have fewer after Colin Montgomery got bumped.

I'll be playing tomorrow with Jerry and a few others and I'm hoping to take their souls. It hasn't been my best year thus far, but the worm is
starting to turn.

After watching that game today, I look forward to tomorrow and fall golf. The temp is going to be cool, the foliage is just starting to turn a bit, and the fairways and greens are going to be the perfect color. It's going to be beautiful.

Broke 80 for the first time a few weeks ago with a 77 (+6). Been playing since around 2017 and these days only about 10-15 rounds a year so pretty stoked to cross that one off.
Congrats. My scramble team had the exact same score last week,77.

Just got back from scoring an 81, my best score ever. Shot an average front 9, but the back 9 I had 2 birdies.and 4 pars.
Just had to post that.
