The Golf thread

why the F does the CBS TV director insist on showing GD-out-of-contention Brian Harman:blink:

does he have something for lefty short men :hump::doh:
Brian was on the bubble for next week. So the
CBS guy must have a thing for short, bald, lefties, that are on the bubble.

EDIT: Breaking News: The short, bald, lefty finished #31 overall and will not have any network TV director showing his ass at the finals next week.
The overrated Justin Thomas finished #30.

I can't play right due to a sudden medical condition. Hopefully I'll be able to start playing again by the last week in September. However they didn't say that I could not putt.
So I started to go down to the putting green. It was nice just going down to the course but it got a little boring putting on the practice green.

Then I came up with a putting game that I could play. I got a cart and went out to the regular course. I start with my 1st putt having to be 25 feet or more. If I make the putt, I get a birdie. If I make the 2nd putt I get a par. If I 3 putt I get a boggie.
Yesterday I did 9 holes and ended up with a +2. Plan to try it tomorrow and see if my putting improves.

Today starts the Tour Championship. The top 30 players according to the Fed Ex standings will compete for a total purse of $100,000,000.

Scotties caddie has a team of accountants on standby.

Golf is the only sport, that I know of, that you call penalties on yourself.
Theegala was in a sand trap. When he made a practice swing he brushed the sand. No one saw him and it was barely noticeable on the replay.
Yet he called an official over on his way down the fairway and reported it.
It was a 2 stroke penalty. That penalty could cost him a minimum of $50,000.

I paid for 18 holes today and played 9 and that's all I have to say about that.

Today starts first day play of the Presidents Cup.
Now some are saying WTF is the Presidents Cup?
It is a team golf tournament in which the 12 best PGA players from the USA go against a team of the 12 best players from other countries called the International team.
They will play matches in different formats until Sunday when they play 12 individual matches.
In other golf news. I got medically cleared to play after 2 months. After almost 2 months of dry, warm, beautiful days is raining today.🤨

Not sure how Äberg doesn't make the list of 12 best for the other countries. Maybe he just hasn't been around long enough to be one of the "boys".

Aberg wouldn't be eligible for the International team, he's from Sweden.
The Europeans go against the USA in the Ryder Cup, which will be next year.
He will, no doubt, make the European team unless he has an awful season or can't play because of injury.

Is Sweden not part of the international community?
