Outstanding playing on the fretless bass here by Ralphe Armstrong.

Song: Late To The Party
Artist: Andrew Synowiec

We went to Lost Chord again last night - it's a small venue in Solvang, CA that features local artists.

Andrew Synowiec is very talented - sometimes he sounded like Pat Metheny, other times he sounded like Al Di Meola or Frank Zappa.

At one point in the show, he stepped up to the mic and said that he had to admit to something - he had an addiction problem.

It turns out he's addicted to buying guitars. He played five or six different guitars during the show, including an awesome 1953 Epiphone. He sounded like Johnny A when playing that beast.

A very entertaining show - we would go to see him and his band again.

He closed the show with this piece: "Lead Foot" - he sounded like Eric Johnson on this one.

Song: Hard Times (live)
Artist: The Crusaders

Post #63 in this thread is the studio version, which is terrific. If you're not familiar with this song, consider checking out that version first before listening to this version.

This performance has a lot of improv by Wilton Felder and Joe Sample, but never strays far from the main theme.

Song: Theme From Overboard
Composer: Alan Silvestri

Movies and TV shows in the 1980s occasionally would showcase some nice jazz compositions, such as this one.
