The Jets suck Part 2

I think the point is they should have had someone, the only reason Zach is still there is because of money.
Based on age maybe but the guy has missed a total of 16 games over the course of his career due to injury and was showing no signs of decline. I think the plan was for Wilson to sit behind Rodgers and learn this year.

I thought Rodgers was showing decline last year. Also him sitting in a dark tunnel and doing mushrooms is not exactly the best training for a 39 year old QB.

You know I was thinking over the weekend how Rodgers dogged that last season with McCarthy because he wanted him fired and how he had dogged other games in the past when he wasn't happy. Now he had the perfect situation with the Jete, seemed to really commit to them and their plan and BOOM. It's over in 4 plays. What comes around, goes around ...

100% agree. Terrible plan.

I could sit behind Albert Einstein. That wouldn't work either. I am no genius and Zach is no NFL QB.

Just read that Saleh give Wilson a vote of confidence going forward.
That's very good news for us.
Absolutely head scratching.

IMO, one of two things is going on:
1) the Jete don't want to spend on any more picks/cap capital on this year's team
2) They don't want to piss off Rodgers by bringing in a semi-decent QB to quarterback his team and have success thereby making him go back into his dark tunnel this offseason to contemplate retirement again while doing the mushrooms and counting all the guaranteed money both GB and the Jete are paying him to rehab. I think this one is more likely.

BTW, is this the unofficial/official pregame thread?

Not much else he can say. That doesn’t mean they’re not exploring options but for right now, he’s gotta stand by his guy.

I don't have any issue with Saleh at all. Of course he has to say that but I was just spit balling as to why mgmt might not be pursuing another QB.

this stuff worries me.... for the year and schedule pats have, the have to win this game. Dallas I have no illusions about (not saying they can't win, but of the next 2 games this seems like the winnable one). sooner or later Jets will manage to win one against us.... just don't be this year (and I'm fine with them never winning one if that's how it plays out)
It's a tough game because we have had such slow starts. If the Jete get out to an early lead then their defense is going to come after Mac with their ears pinned back. It is paramount that we come out of the gate fast and no turnovers. If we can get an early lead then I think the Jete will go to sleep as Wilson cannot play from behind and Bill has confused him pretty well in the past.

I have been very impressed with Quinnen Williams who is now one of the elite IDLs in the game after not looking all that early in
his pro career. I had hopes that he would be a bust, but.....nope. He's bona-fide and we can only hope our starting guards shook
some serious rust off last week because they both looked lost. I'm a big fan of Cole Strange, but he was awful against Miami and Onwenu
was far from himself as well. Let's call it a work in progress.

This brings me to Christian Barmore, who I thought might be a better pro than fellow Bama man Williams, but he hasn't been very
visible so far, not that he has been bad. Maybe it's that we've seen an unusual amount of quick passing versus our first two opponents
but that isn't really Zack's thing. If I were forced to pick what I think his thing actually is then I'd probably say running for his life. The guy can
scoot pretty good, but, much like Mac, he seems to get mooshed a lot when he does get hit. Some guys can slip hits and some can't. It's
not really a quantifiable thing.

I don't know what is going to happen in this game. No clue. I will say that I hate the matchup between our OL and their front right now. Ulbrich is
hyper-aggressive and I expect him to send blitzers from every angle at Mac, but if Q Williams doesn't get a half-dozen total hits and
sacks on our QB then I'll be shocked. He's just shredding whoever is in front of him, which will probably be Strange this week. Ugh. This
has a chance to be a character-building week for our embattled 2nd-year guy. Ready or not, here comes Q.

I'd feel better if we had our full Cornerback group ready to go, but that is not going to be the case. Still, it's Jets/Pats and that always gets
me fired up. We need to bring the heat at Zack this week and make him sweat. I want a more aggressive approach than we've seen over the
first two weeks against top-5 Offenses. The Jets are not close to being that. We need to start dictating, especially with a short-handed D backfield.

Agree. Need to force things this week against a very challenged offense/Qb.
