The Official "American Horror Story" Thread

Balenciaga!

That was just one of 3 lines in last night's show that made me whoop out loud, the other two being Fiona's tortured, "What is this, KNOTTY PINE!!!???", and Madison's hell: "I was in a network TV musical, a live version of 'The Sound of Music'. And I wasn't even the lead, I was Liesl!":bow::bow:

Oh Misty. The easiest way to make Cordelia's becoming the Supreme reasonable was to eliminate you. You were too likeable and naive, and a heavy favorite to take the throne. However, I see no logic in denying you a position on the Council, and instead having you suffer in a hell you didn't deserve :frown:

All told, I really enjoyed this last episode and season. While there are always a few loose threads remaining (the baby, especially), life can be like that too.

Oops! Make that 4 LOL moments for me. I lost it when I read Next Up: Liza Minnelli to talk about her hip.'

Kinda let down by the ending in a way. Was cool seeing Fiona in her knotty pine hell with the axeman. I guess she had a soul after all.

I didn't see the need to kill off Misty, especially where she was the one who could enter death to retrieve life and resurrect. I would have thought Queeny would lose there in fried chicken torment. Really misplaced to me.

Madison was deserving of her fate in a backup role of live theatre in the end.

Cordelia becoming supreme was a nice twist, and until last nite would have shocked me more, but the writers were kinda tipping their hands a bit early on that one.

I was hoping for some sort of dark cruel twisted horrific twist when they opened the doors at the end. That is how I thought AHS worked. Very disappointed there.

Well queeny had already been there done that at the fried chicken place. That was an easy one for her.

There are a lot of people disappointed in the ending. I liked it. Enjoyed the happy ending.

But what did happen to Spaulding? Do they just keep him in the attic?

Spaulding is a ghost, so he can go anywhere, and remain unseen at will :shrug_n:

But he wanted Laveau out of the way so he could keep the baby for his collection

A voodoo/witch battle is still in play, IMO.

Hank's dad said killing the board members would not stop the witch hunting.

I have no idea where AHS is heading, but to me, that's what makes it so much fun to watch :)

I grabbed this quote for my alternate ending.

My ending: story plays out as shown. Break to final commercial. A plug for a Stevie dvd. Quick cut from commercial to show one of the newb witches whipping out an AR, mowing down the three at the stairs, then the rest of her compatriots. She swallows a bullet. Pan to a silver rolls out front with a Delphi International logo on it. Chauffer gets out, opens door to a well dressed man in a grey suit and dark glasses.
Commando's surround him, and he says "burn it. Burn it all down!" Commandos toss fire pot grenades all through the ground floor and outbuildings.

Cut to Spaulding smelling the smoke and looking up in horror from his doll house.

Fade to black

The Coven suffered most from the selfish acts of its members, and those who were responsible for inflicting the most harm paid the highest price.

Fiona's myopic vision of her own importance and entitlement got the ball rolling. By murdering Annaleigh, flaunting her ability to escape punishment in Myrtle's face, abandoning the Coven to live with the jet-set, and turning her back on Cordelia, she failed to accept her responsibility as Supreme to lead and make sacrifices for the good of the group.

Myrtle hurt the group by obsessing over seeking revenge against Fiona. She was purified by being burned at the stake, and upon her return, she focused on her commitment to the Coven, and to Cordelia.

Cordelia held the Coven together in her mother's absence, primarily to win Fiona's approval. She neglected the development of her own powers, and instead cultivated those of the younger witches. By marrying Hank, she brought a new threat to the Academy, but that threat ultimately strengthened the group. Cordelia's sacrifices for the Coven were monumental, and her rewards were likewise.

The mother-daughter relationships throughout the story are the true horror, IMO. Fiona and Cordelia, Delphine and Borquita, and Marie and her baby all shared plot lines conjured in nightmares. The three self-centered matriarchs set all the evil in motion. In comparison, their parenting makes Hank's relationship with his Dad seem almost sweet, because even though they were killing witches, they were killing witches together...

...That said, I thought Cordelia would raise the baby, who inherited Nan's powers when Fiona and Marie switched their places in the deal with Papa Legba (it can happen). The baby would learn both witchcraft and voodoo, and a perfect blend would result.

They could name the baby Mocha Mullatta, or something like that

I was late in watching the finale, but thought it was a reasonably good ending to the season.

Fiona in hell with Saxman was pretty amusing. She realized she was in hell when she spotted the cheap paneling of the cabin as Legba slapped his knee and roared evil laughter, but at least she still had her looks and some company. Her catfish catching BF for all eternity. The preceding scene of her all decrepit and dying was powerful and I still love her even if everybody else decided she sucked. I'll miss you, Fiona. Great season.

Plenty of nits to pick, but the only one I'll bring up is Madison allowing Frankenskyle to strangle her when she was loaded with all kinds of witch powers. How did the writers think that was going to make sense? I did like Kyle's one-liner "you're not that good of an actress" as he finished her off. You knew she would get clobbered by karma somehow.

I was also puzzled as to how Zoey ended up as a shish kebab on the fence when all the witches were in the yard playing Human Flash, but I don't want to quibble too much.

But......who were those dudes helping to burn Myrtle? They only show up when it's time to burn somebody? At least Myrtle went out in style. Another great actress who got a chance for a glorious end which she nailed.

So Cordelia got the big chair and made witchery public and a bit like trying out for American Idol. Good on her. That was a nice twist as was getting Zoey and Queenie to serve on the council. I guess she peaked at the right time and threw a lot of people a big curveball. I didn't see that coming.

Overall, I'd give it a B and it tied together most of the loose ends and provided a happier ending than I anticipated. Best ending of the 3 season, by far, imo.

Great and entertaining season and I look forward to more fun to come from a very talented company who provide something unique and stylish to the wasteland that is current television.

See, I liked the ending of last season best of the three so far.

We all think its wrapped up, then that last twist with Lana popping a cap in her baby, Bloodyface Jr. Leaves you feeling all uncomfortable inside.

So next season will be based on the carnival. Hate that it means Clowns will likely be involved BUT I think it will make for a great season! I just can't watch it before bed

I was always bummed HBO let Carnivale go, I thought it was such a great backdrop for a story like this. I'm sure AHS will find a way to make it even more entertaining.

If I knew how to copy and paste on this Damn thing it would make life a lot easier but this is what I got.

"Set in Jupiter, FL in 1950, Jessica Lange playing a German ex-pat who is managing one of the last freak shows in the US.

Returning this year Jessica Lange, Kathy Bates, Sarah Paulson, Evan Peters, Angela Bassett ams Frances Conroy."

It's gonna be good :)

This year's entry has my skin crawling already.

That freaky clown is a potent seed for nightmares

Lange's portrayal is an amalgam of Madeline Kahn, Marlena Dietrich, and Kenneth Mars, with a touch of Frank-n-Furter. In other words, another campy, delicious performance :thumb:

That tiny woman is so precious! What a beauty!

Kathy Bates made me LOL...she's killing it ROFL

Step right up and enjoy the show :toast:
