My brother is hilarious. For context, he did many deployments (Middle East, Asia, South America) while a .50 cal gunner in the 82nd Airborne. Some really nasty stuff. He is one of those people we can’t thank often enough for his service. 🥰

I am making the rounds getting poked and prodded physically and mentally trying to qualify for stem cell transplant and I texted him. Here is his absolutely hilarious response.

Last week one of my high school friends passed away, heart attack. Not looking for any sympathy, it is what it is. This kind of thing is happening a lot more now though. Weird. His wake/memorial is this weekend.

Life is short, live it up!
Sorry to hear BSF, getting old ain't for the timid.

Quick update about my wife. She's been in the hospital for the past 2 weeks. Got the flu real bad, pneumonia and a nasty UTI. She hasn't eaten anything since before she went in. She's going to need to go to rehab. She's to weak and sick to come home. This week we're going to talk with her medical team about possible end of life plans for her.

That is awful. Best wishes to you and and your family in this difficult time.

sorry to read this. it sucks watching someone you love suffer. i'm sure she's grateful to have you in her corner.

That is a lot to go through and to see it happening to a person you love. Adding your family to my prayer list.

Very sorry for what you’re going through. Keep praying. Miracles do happen. I’ll pray for your wife.

I haven't been here lately...

Sorry to hear that she isn't yet doing better. I pray that she has begun to recover by the time you see this!

That's a hard thing to go through, buddy. I have no words that would gelp. Times like this I pray

Once again, I'm reminded to try your best to live life before you can't.

The weekend weather person here at work was working towards retirement. Wasn't 100% ready to retire so last year he went from 5 days a week to 4. He was going to retire this last December but we couldn't find a replacement so he went to just weekends part time. He talked about all the trip he was going to do when he retired. He was usually here around the same time I got in so when he wasn't in by 4:30 today and wasn't responding to any forms of contact. General Manager and police made entry into his apartment and found him already passed away. He was months away from retiring.
