She’s been admitted and is in the exact same room she was before she was discharged
They have a EEG running continuously to rule out any sort of siezure being the cause of these attacks.
Hurry up and wait

Ok she had another attack last night about 5
I filmed her as the nurses delt with because one of the doctors told me to

They’ve removed the Borg Queen EEG head gear before i got here today so obviously they got what they needed about what goes on in her brain during one of these attacks

A new neuro team came by this morning and said her case was “usual”

I channeled my inner Marvin the Martian and replied “Oh Goody”

They explained that breathing issues associated with Parkinson’s is typically due to one of two things.

The diaphragm doesn’t have the power to inflate the lungs

Or

Muscles in the neck/throat constrict blocing the airway.

I mentioned the mucus bombs she gets at the back of her throat and said that could be a contributing factor.

I told them that rhe nurses had “vacuumed” her mouth/throat last night after the attack but I don’t know what they pulled out.

The dr mentioned that if they use meds to dry out the sinuses that simply mean the next mucus bomb would be more solid and harder to clear.

He also said that blood O2 levels @ 60 or lower can be fatal and she was at 64 last night and at 55 when we first came here on the 20th.

My gut feel is that this is caused by the mucus, possibly in conjunction with the throat constriction.

He did say a tracheotomy was a solution, if they’re sure the throat is the issue.

I’m leaning that way

Sue’s sister just gave me a good suggestion

Check for alergies

She had the attack last night as i was feeding her dinner.

I’ve also noticed many of her attacks when we sit down for dinner, but that may be simply because that’s when i’m next to her

You both are still in my thoughts, praying for both of you …..

On a humorous note i’m being entertained by the crew across the street pouring concrete for a new parking garage in 14 degree weather

Lord Jesus Christ, the Divine Physician,

We thank you and praise you for showing us all how to love the afflicted in body, mind, and soul. We praise you and adore you for your miraculous healing touch in all our lives through the doctors and surgeons who care for us. The Bible shows us how you loved us as a great physician of body, mind, soul, and spirit during your earthly ministry. You also taught us how to suffer for your glory by the way of the Cross, and while carrying it, actively loving our neighbors with perfect love. We thank you and praise you for your loving presence and for your Sacred Heart of love for all mankind. We thank you for the grace you give us when we are sick and suffering and in need of a physician to help us and heal us.

We thank you for all our doctors and surgeons whom you have given to us. We ask you to bless them and guide them through divine inspiration by the Holy Spirit as they seek to diagnose and treat all manner of illness and disease in our bodies, especially the wife of our dear friend. Give our doctors and surgeons wisdom, knowledge, understanding, courage, fortitude, piety, and fear of the Lord as they live out their vocations. Let the Holy Spirit pour out on them as they work in service to those who are sick and in need of healing. Lord, make them aware of their great mission as healers of body, mind, and soul. Help them minister to the needs of all in need and advise us on treatment options. Fill our doctors and surgeons with the fire of the Holy Spirit in their daily work and help them strive to imitate your merciful love as they counsel and advise all their patients. Bless abundantly.

Lord, please enlighten our doctors and surgeons to know the best treatment options available. Guide their decisions when they diagnose, treat, medicate, or operate. Give them hearts that are compassionate and merciful. Help them see the least of humanity and the most vulnerable as images of your divine Heart so that they can love patients with the love that radiates from your merciful Heart.

Lord Jesus Christ, bless our doctors and surgeons with abundant grace throughout all their medical studies and research efforts. Help them come to know the best treatment modalities for each patient, and especially this suffering woman. Grant our doctors and surgeons the grace to love and serve the sick in both mind and body on their longest and toughest days of service as physicians. Strengthen them with your Holy Spirit and your loving presence with each difficult encounter, and help them be an image of You to those who are suffering and under their care.

We ask all this in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit, AMEN.

Saint Luke, please pray for us!

Saint Cosmas, please pray for us!

Saint Damian, please pray for us!

AMEN.

The neuro team was here when i got in

He said he doesn’t think it’s medical but behavioral

He said that when people get older they can revert to childhood.

He thinks she’s holding her breath like a 3 year old would do

He spoke with her Parkinson’s neuro who said Sue’s in the “end stages” of the disease.

Bottom line, we’re looking at the end game.

I didn’t ask for a timeline because in all honesty, i don’t want to know

He said there’s two options

Do nothing

The risk of any attack is that she could pass out if itis a long one.

As long as she’s sitting, that isn’t a big deal

He said her brain will be a little wonky for some time after an attack. I’ve seen that so i know it’s true

The alternative is a permanent tracheotomy

He’s going to have one of the surgeons talk to me so i understand the risks and i pact on her snd my life if we do that

Mere words won't help. But I can pray and pray I will.

Oh, that’s terrible. I’m very sorry OPT. I’ll keep praying for your wife.

She’s had a total of 5 attacks today, two of which i was here for

I’m not buying the 3 year old tantrum theory.

I can accept she may be deciding to do it for some unknown reason, but it’s not a petulant child thing.
The surgeon did come by. She was thinking of something other than a tracheotomy

She showed me it. It was a bit of plastic that is inserted in her throat with a plug that goes in the hole. You pull the plug when she haves an attack.

Just leaving it open isn’t recommended since the air would be drier than if it goes through the nose.

Also, if i’m not sitting next to her, I won’t be able to open it.

I did some googling for n O2 sensor with an alarm, and so far the only ones I’ve found alarm on the sensor ring or bracelet which will do me no good.

I’ve got to look at an apple watch to see if it can alarm on my phone.

Sent a message to her Parkinson’s neuro team to get info on the “end stage”

Yeah they’re going to be vague, but i’m an engineer i want a number god damn it.

I’ve tried to ask my wife hat she wants to do, but she’s a little out of it from the attacks.

One thing to note, after one of today’s attacks, the nurse did suction and there was no mucus in her mouth
