The Patriots' 2024 OL

after watching Drake Maye rush for more YPC than Stevenson (15.3 vs 2.4) :oops:yesterday, in this week's summary we have the new catagory of Tackle for Loss (TFL)

protecting the QB is one thing but even w/ the win, how many times did it seem rushes went for no gain or TFL yesterday? :(

on a positive note, it seems that youth is on Maye's side IMO in terms of his ability to move feet and/or process the field w/ a much lower Pressure Percentage (Prss%) Stat than Jacoby :)

Playing the hapless Titans, Jerod Mayo turns to Offensive Wizard Alex Van Pelt to come up w/ a new winning game plan

Fresh off seemingly a week of being in Concussion Protocol, our Pats rookie QB is installed in the new, innovative "Forrest Gump" offensive scheme by Van Pelt

Drake "Run-Forrest-Run" Maye responds w/ an 8 run | 95 yd performance besting teammate Rhamondre Stevenson's 10 run | 16 yd  total outing

Good News? Maye does not get re-concussed

Bad News? Pats lose anyway to hapless Titans :sulk: or could it just be the O-Line?
what a shit-show :cuss:

That's 31 sacks in 9 games, btw.

the NFL Gods blessed the NEPs yesterday by showing the world that the Bears might have a worse O-Line than they do

Bears O-Line Stats: Sacks Allowed 9 | QB Hits Allowed 13 | Tackle For Loss 13

It might be time to rethink if Stevenson is a #1 RB. He's turned in to a 1 cut RB who is slow to identify and hit the 1 hole to cut into. Just sayin'.
I've put RB high on this offseason's to do list.

I’ve been wondering all year if he’s making business decisions on the field.

At a minimum depth and serious competition needs to be added.

Stevenson's fall-off has been playcalling.
Why they're running 5 toss sweeps for this guy is beyond me.

I don't think this scheme really fits him

My wife commented "He doesn't look fast enough to run outside like that!" My wife doesn't watch very much but she recognized the problem right away.
Another example of bad play calling/personnel usage by AVP. Douglas would be better suited to those as outside jet sweeps.

yesterday's L may be more on the Pats D than the O-line but here's a YTD summary of offensive performance :)

Pats O-line is 3rd in league w/ # of QB sacks allowed = 35
Pats O-line is tied for 1st in league( w/ NY Giants) for # of QB hits allowed = 44
Pats 3rd in league for Prss% (Times pressured per dropback) = 25.5%

as a FYI/BTW --- Pats D had 0 sacks | 0 Tackle For Loss | 4 QB hits while allowing Rams Kupp & Nacua kill them w/ 77% of passing yards gained (229 / 295)

And congratulations on your choice of a wife

The line has gotten better as they've played together.
Still some of It Is Mayes ability to escape the pocket, While Jacoby doesn't have that .(Jacoby is a warrior though and great mentor)

A line will always play better with continuity, but they still need upgrades across the line...hopefully one at least one the two rookies can play, BigMike can get to RG (and stay there), but that leaves 3 likely positions that need to be upgraded.
