The SB '25 Thread - Eagles vs Chiefs

Good Saturday morning. We are supposed to get about 10 inches of snow starting tonight. Hope that we don't lose power, I want to watch the final round of the Phoenix Open.

Fuck the Chiefs.

When people say the Patriots got the same treatment from the refs, I say, did the NFL take away 1st-round draft picks from the Chiefs on multiple occasions for flimsy reasons? Did they suspend Patrick Mahomes for four games for pretty much no reason?

So, the Patriots overcame obstacles continually put in their path while the Chiefs? You decide. 🧐

People feel the same frustrations at not being able to stop them. But apart from a correct interpretation of a badly written rule to start it all, it's nowhere near the same. Kinda the opposite. I've had that discussion with people, too.

I normally would try to keep belichick stuff in the belichick thread.but for anyone who's interested, the channel that's airing the Super Bowl in your area should be showing a documentary with bill on the madden bus at 12 noon eastern time.

Fully expect spags to put a clamp on Barkley and Barkley playing well is pretty much one of the few shots the Eagles have to win unfortunately. I don't think Hurts is going to be able to make enough plays without Barkley opening things up for him.20250209_124909.jpg

What do y'all typically have for eats and treats for the SB? It's already nearly 7:30pm here so I've had a cracking pizza already from a really good Neopolitan pizza joint. I have chips and beers in for the game.

I had plans to put zero effort into food this year. We always host at our house and I spend the whole weekend preparing food. This year I said I wasn't doing it. And then last night at about 10:00, my son texted and asked if I was making food for the Super Bowl. It's hard for me to say no to him so I told him I would make him & his girlfriend one snack for the game. So here I am waiting for the pellet grill to heat up so I can throw some wings on for him. But after that, we're going to the bar and the only thing I'm bringing is some of my cold smoked cheeses from the fridge.

We're going to a party and will be bringing cornbread with green chilies.

The hosts are providing Santa Maria style tri tip and grilled chicken.

It's California, so there's going to be some fairly decent wines available.

And if the game goes badly, well, every glass of wine contains a therapist.

Not that this matters, but…KC has invested at least $1,000,000 in their superb owl victory celebration. No parade because of the shooting, but, they’re still spending it though.

Philly never spent anything.

🤔
